HOW TO KNOW YOUR SCHOOL HAS OFFERED YOU ADMISSION

After writing UTME and doing post-UTME exams or screening, the big question is: “Has my school given me admission?”

One of the most exciting—and sometimes most confusing—moments for every candidate is checking if their admission has been released.

If this is you, then take time to read this post to the very end.

Genealogy, schools don’t just call you on the phone or send random messags to your email. Instead, they upload admission lists on official platforms where you can confirm for yourself. These are mainly two places:

1️⃣ JAMB CAPS
2️⃣ School Portal

Before you rush to check, the first thing you should do is find out if your school has started releasing admission list.

Next is to confirm where your school published its admission list. For most institutions, they update the JAMB CAPS first, while others release it on their own portal before it reflects later on CAPS. Whichever one it is, confirm first.

Next is to check any of the portals after you've done your findings. Below are the steps for each of the portals:
__
🔹How to Check Admission on JAMB CAPS

1. Go to your Efacility portal

2. Log in with your JAMB registered email address and password

3. Click CHECK ADMISSION STATUS.

4. Select ACCESS MY CAPS.

5. Click ADMISSION STATUS to see your update.

The message you see on your JAMB CAPS may differ depending on whether your school has given you admission or not. Check the comment section for the link to my post explaining all the possible JAMB CAPS terms.
__

🔹 How to Check Admission on School Portal

The process differs depending on the institution, but generally you should:

1. Visit your school’s official admission portal.

2. Login with the required details. This could be your JAMB registration number only, or details used for account creation during Post UTME/screening.

3. Navigate and check for where to find your admission status

Has your school started releasing their admission list?
Have you checked for your admission status?

Beware of Scammers!!!

14/08/2025

JAMB has announced that UTME candidates can no longer combine WAEC and NECO results for admission into tertiary institutions.

JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, explained this during a virtual meeting with Vice-Chancellors, adding that science students must include Mathematics and arts students must include English among their top subjects.

He also directed that underage candidates must go through a special post-UTME screening, even if the school has suspended it for others.

This comes as reactions continue over the poor 2025 WASSCE results released on August 4.
