BORRONG WARD SUPPORT GROUP FAMILIARISE SELVES WITH AKHAM, DRUMS UP SUPPORT FOR THE CHAIRMAN'S ASPIRATION
The Akham Support group, Borrong ward is stepping up political mobilisation efforts ahead of the forth coming LG elections across the 21 local govt council, with familiarisation rally earlier today in Borrong and preparations for the forthcoming elections.
Earlier, over 1,000 residents of Borrong, Dilli, Gwamba and Mbula ward respectively gathered at the Mboiman square today, Sunday, 8th February 2026 in support of its chairmanship and councillorship candidates.
The event featured party faithful, youths, men and women in a show of solidarity.
Mr. Nathaniel the vice chairman of the movement who represented the chairman said in his remarks "the turnout reflected trust in the PDP grassroots impact, this is indeed a proof of our people’s confidence in the PDP administration and its commitment to development at the local level,” Nathaniel said.
Also speaking at the programme, the acting PDP chairman of the ward, Mr. Samson Kumbita urged voters to support candidates who understand their communities' unique needs.
“Local governments play a pivotal role in socio-economic development. Let us elect leaders who can truly serve the people, and not selves centered leaders” he said.
Other speakers at the event also took turns to highlight the Chairman's achievements.
Hon. Godwin Ellison the aspiring Borrong ward councillor heartily praised the support from group members, party faithful and other diehard fans and further listed improvements in the various sectors, also highlighting some of the needs of the populace.
Hon. Alham Sanda Jalo in his closing remarks, pledged continued investment in infrastructure, youth empowerment and socio-economic development among other projects.
