APC Revises 2026 Primary Election Timetable, Shifts Key Processes
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced a revised timetable for its 2026 primary elections, introducing adjustments to the schedule earlier circulated to state chapters on April 20, 2026.
Under the updated programme, the party’s primaries will be conducted as follows:
May 15, 2026 – House of Representatives primaries
May 18, 2026 – Senate primaries
May 20, 2026 – State House of Assembly primaries
May 21, 2026 – Governorship primaries
May 23, 2026 – Presidential primary
The new timetable is expected to guide aspirants and party stakeholders as preparations intensify across the country.
Speaking at the end of the party’s 186th National Working Committee (NWC) meeting in Abuja, the APC’s Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Duro Meseko, said the revision reflects changes to earlier plans.
He noted that key pre-primary activities, including the screening of aspirants and the consideration of appeals, had been rescheduled, necessitating the updated timeline.
