WE STAND MOVEMENT PLEDGES SUPPORT FOR HON. BERNARD KENEBAI, ADOPTS HIM AS THE CANDIDATE FOR SAGBAMA/EKEREMOR FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY

WE STAND MOVEMENT — WE STAND WITH HON. BERNARD KENEBAI.
Together for Experience. Together for quality Representation. Together for Sagbama/Ekeremor federal Constituency

The Movement ably led by Comr. Ayibaefiye God'stime Ambayama Visits APC Standard-Bearer, Affirms Confidence in His Capacity and Track Record

The WE STAND MOVEMENT paid a courtesy and solidarity visit to Hon. Bernard Sunday Kenebai, the All Progressives Congress (APC) standard-bearer for the Sagbama/Ekeremor Federal Constituency, reaffirming its commitment to supporting his aspiration to represent the people of the constituency in the Green Chambers of the National Assembly.

The visit provided an opportunity for leaders and members of the movement to formally communicate their confidence in Hon. Kenebai's leadership, experience and grassroots connection, while pledging their collective support for his political aspiration.

Hon. Bernard Kenebai currently serves in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly as the representative of Sagbama Constituency II and has also served in leadership and oversight capacities within the Assembly.

In May 2026, he emerged as the APC candidate for the Sagbama/Ekeremor Federal Constituency seat at the party's National Assembly primaries.

A RECORD OF GRASSROOTS IMPACT

One of the major reasons cited by the WE STAND MOVEMENT for throwing its weight behind Hon. Kenebai, is his record of engagement and intervention within his constituency.
According to the movement, his years as a member of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly have demonstrated a strong understanding of the needs of communities at the grassroots. His interventions have included community-focused projects, educational assistance, empowerment initiatives and other forms of support.

A notable example is the community radio station he built and equipped for Okumbiri Community in Sagbama Local Government Area, aimed at improving information dissemination and public enlightenment. Reports have also documented educational support provided to students from communities within his constituency as part of his human-capacity-development efforts.

His legislative responsibilities have also exposed him to infrastructure oversight and public-project monitoring. In 2025, as Chairman of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly Committee on Works and Infrastructure, Kenebai participated in inspections of major road and infrastructure projects across the state.

For the WE STAND MOVEMENT, these experiences are important indicators of a representative who understands both the challenges facing the people and the processes required to attract attention and development to communities.

“WE STAND WITH KENEBAI”
Speaking during the solidarity visit, Comr. Ayibaefiye God'stime Ambayama, the coordinator of the WE STAND MOVEMENT declared its unwavering support for Hon. Bernard Kenebai, emphasizing that the movement's decision was based on his experience, accessibility, grassroots relationship and demonstrated commitment to community development.

The movement maintained that Sagbama/Ekeremor Federal Constituency deserves effective, experienced and people-oriented representation at the federal level, and expressed confidence that Hon. Kenebai possesses the legislative experience and grassroots understanding required for the task.

The group therefore pledged to stand firmly with him, mobilise support and work toward the success of his aspiration.

KENEBAI APPRECIATES THE MOVEMENT
In response, Hon. Bernard Kenebai expressed his profound appreciation to the WE STAND MOVEMENT for the visit, confidence and declaration of support.

He welcomed the members of the movement and acknowledged the significance of their decision to identify with his aspiration. He assured them that their confidence would further strengthen his determination to continue pursuing purposeful and people-centred representation.

In a further demonstration of mutual confidence, Hon. Kenebai adopted the WE STAND MOVEMENT as his own political forum, creating a stronger bond between him and the movement as they look ahead to the political journey.

EXPERIENCE FOR THE GREEN CHAMBERS
The WE STAND MOVEMENT believes that the transition from the Bayelsa State House of Assembly to the House of Representatives would provide Hon. Kenebai with an opportunity to bring his legislative experience to the federal level.
Having served as a state legislator and participated in legislative oversight, community development initiatives and constituency representation, the movement believes he has acquired valuable experience that can be deployed in the Green Chambers.

His previous electoral victories also demonstrate his connection with his constituents. In the 2023 Bayelsa State House of Assembly election, Kenebai won the Sagbama Constituency II seat with 5,780 votes, according to the reported official result.

A UNITED FRONT FOR SAGBAMA/EKEREMOR
The visit ended on a note of renewed commitment, solidarity and optimism.

For the WE STAND MOVEMENT, the message is clear: the movement stands with Hon. Bernard Kenebai because it believes experience, grassroots connection and a record of community engagement matter in choosing who should represent the people at the federal level.
With the movement now formally adopting Hon. Bernard Kenebai and pledging its support, the visit marks another step toward building a broad grassroots coalition around his aspiration to represent the people of Sagbama/Ekeremor Federal Constituency in the Green Chambers of the National Assembly.

The Supreme Court has vacated the order that directed the the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to maintain status quo ante bellum pending the determination of its leadership crisis.

What is "Status Quo Ante Bellum"
meaning, the state of affairs as they were before the conflict

In layman's language, the Supreme Court has canceled a temporary freeze on the leadership of the ADC. This means the party can move forward with its current leadership, as the legal pause button has been removed

This wan mean say,
The Supreme court judgement will restore the David Mark Leadership and David Mark is now part of the recognised National Chairman of the ADC

The party can now proceed with official functions related to the 2027 General Elections, such as organizing congresses and primary elections, which were previously at risk of being invalidated by INEC.

But this judgement does not end the case, it only gives them room to move forward while resolving their internal crisis, instead of the pause mode they were forced to stand on before.

The court ask them to refurn to the Federal High Court to resolve all pending issues within the party.

Ignorance of the law is not an excuse

WE STAND MOVEMENT (WSM) CALLS FOR EQUITY AND FAIRNESS IN SAGBAMA AND EKEREMOR NATIONAL ASSEMBLY POSITIONS

A Brief History of National Assembly Representation in Ekeremor Local Government Area.

Ekeremor Local Government Area in Bayelsa State forms part of the sagbama and ekeremor federal constituency and Bayelsa West Senatorial District with his sister LGA, Sagbama.

By a longstanding gentleman’s agreement between the two LGAs, when Sagbama produces the red chamber (Senate) then Ekeremor produces Green chamber (house of representative).
vice versa.

*From 1999 to Date*
With the return to civilian rule in 1999, the power-sharing arrangement between Ekeremor and Sagbama LGA took effect.

In 1999, Hon. Clement Andiye from Ndoro, Ekeremor LGA, was elected to the House of Representatives to represent the Sagbama/Ekeremor Federal Constituency, while Senator Emmanuel Diffa from Sagbama LGA was elected to the Senate to represent Bayelsa West Senatorial District.

In 2003, Hon. Deacon Christopher Enai from Ekeremor Main Town in Ekeremor Constituency 2 was elected to the House of Representatives. In the same period, the late Chief Kojo Brambaifa from Agbere, Sagbama LGA, was elected Senator for a four-year term.

In 2007, Rt. Hon. Dr. Heineken Lokpobiri, Esq., from Ekeremor community in Ekeremor Constituency 2, was elected Senator for Bayelsa West. He served for eight years from 2007 to 2015.

In 2015, Senator Foster Ogola from Sagbama Town was elected to the Senate and served from 2015 to 2019. Within the same period, Hon. Fred Y. Agbedi from Aghoro community in Ekeremor Constituency 3 was elected to the House of Representatives. He has served from 2015 till date, with his current tenure set to expire in 2027.

In 2019, the late Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo from Sagbama LGA, was elected to the red chamber and served from 2019 until February 14, 2020. Former Governor Senator Henry Seriake Dickson then completed the remainder of that same tenure.
Senator Dickson was re-elected in 2023 and sen. Dickson is the current senator of the district till 2027. Both late Sen. Ewhrudjakpo and sen. Dickson hails from Sagbama Constituency 1 — Ofoni and Toru-Orua communities, respectively.

*The Case for Ekeremor Constituency 1*
From the aborted Third Republic to date, Ekeremor Constituency 2 and Constituency 3 have produced all National Assembly members from Ekeremor LGA. Constituency 1 remains the only constituency in Ekeremor LGA that has never produced a Senator or a Member in the House of Representatives.

This is the time for Ekeremor Constituency 1, to produce the next Senator representing the people of Bayelsa West.

In the interest of equity, fairness, and balanced representation, WE STAND MOVEMENT (WSM) is calling and urging on the leadership of all political parties in Nigeria at the LGA, state and national levels to only consider an aspirants from Ekeremor Constituency 1, for the Bayelsa West Senatorial seat in 2027.
