Hon. Joseph Ede Alakere, aspirant for Southern Ijaw Constituency 3 in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, stood among distinguished leaders as Bayelsa State witnessed another significant milestone in its development journey.

Joining H.E Sen. Douye Diri Governor of Bayelsa State and Nigeria’s immediate past Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo (SAN), Hon. Alakere participated in the commissioning of key infrastructural projects in Yenagoa. The event attracted an array of prominent figures, including the Deputy Governor Pst. Peter Akpe, senators, federal lawmakers, and top government officials, reflecting a united commitment to the advancement of the state.

The highlight of the visit was the inauguration of two critical projects, the Agbura-Ox-Bow Lake Road and the Oporoma Referral Hospital. These projects are set to significantly enhance road connectivity and healthcare delivery, particularly for the people of Southern Ijaw and neighboring communities.

This occasion comes shortly after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu commissioned the historic Angiama-Oporoma Bridge across the River Nun a long awaited project that had remained unrealized for over six decades. Notably, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo (SAN) had earlier laid the foundation for this bridge on February 19, 2022, making his return for this commissioning both symbolic and fulfilling.

At Oporoma, the atmosphere was filled with appreciation and celebration, as the people of Southern Ijaw Local Government Area gathered in large numbers to receive their guests. They expressed deep gratitude to Governor Douye Diri for his commitment to delivering impactful infrastructure, while also acknowledging Prof. Osinbajo as a steadfast friend of Bayelsa State.

Hon. Joseph Ede Alakere’s presence at this historic moment underscores his alignment with purposeful leadership and reinforces his commitment to the development, welfare, and progress of the people of Southern Ijaw Constituency 3.
