My Love,

Today, as heaven marks your 40th year, my heart overflows with gratitude to God for the extraordinary gift that you are, to me, to our children, to the Warri Kingdom, to Africa, and to every life privileged to encounter your light.

Forty years of grace, beauty and of purpose unfolding with divine precision. Yet, somehow it feels as though you are only just beginning to bloom into the fullness of all God has called you to be.

I have watched you carry vision with elegance, responsibility with strength, and compassion with such effortless sincerity that most people don’t even get to see. You lead with the quiet power of conviction, wisdom, and love shining the light in your heart for women, for children, for our people, and for the future of Africa. With the birthing of every dream you conceive, you continue to inspire generations beyond what you can see.

You are a rare light, my love.
A builder of hope.
A nurturer of destiny.
A woman whose presence brings warmth to every room and healing to so so many hearts.

Through every season, you have remained my peace, my safe place, my answered prayer, and the steady heartbeat of our home. Loving you has been one of the greatest honours of my life.

This new decade isn’t just another chapter it is the unveiling of an even greater expression of your purpose. A season of flourishing and of deeper impact. Of divine enlargement and joy without restraint. The world may have seen a glimpse of your brilliance, but I believe heaven is only beginning to reveal the magnitude of who you truly are.

May this year surround you with the same beauty, tenderness, and strength you so freely pour into others. May God continue to crown your efforts with favour and establish the works of your hands firmly.

Happy 40th Birthday my darling.

I celebrate you today and always.

– Your Love.

His Majesty extends his profound appreciation to His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio and Her Excellency Dr. Fatima Maada Bio for their warm hospitality, generosity, and gracious reception throughout the visit. He also conveys his goodwill and admiration to the people of Sierra Leone, while reaffirming the enduring importance of African unity, shared heritage, and strategic collaboration in shaping the future of the continent.

Over the past few days, His Royal Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR, the Olu of Warri, was in the Republic of Sierra Leone for a series of diplomatic, leadership, and cultural engagements. His Majesty held strategic meetings with His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio, Her Excellency the First Lady, Dr. Fatima Maada Bio, the Vice President, and other distinguished national leaders. He also participated in the 2nd Julius Maada Bio Leadership Colloquium, where he delivered a keynote address and later joined a panel discussion alongside notable African and global leaders, including former President of Malawi, Dr. Joyce Banda, and the former Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, the Right Honourable Baroness Patricia Scotland. Beyond the colloquium, His Majesty immersed himself in the rich history and cultural heritage of Sierra Leone through visits to the National Museum, the Peace Museum, and the historic Leicester Peak.

His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III spoke today on the panel “Reimagining African Leadership: Courage, Accountability, and Innovation in an Era of Global Uncertainty” at the closing of the 2nd Julius Maada Bio Colloquium.

While emphasizing mobilizing the full capacity of men, women, and young people to shape Africa’s future, His Majesty described leadership as a force that shapes society at every level. The values upheld by leaders and traditional institutions, he noted, are often reflected in the people, influencing culture, behavior, and the direction of nations. For Africa to accelerate progress, he argued, it must embrace collective contribution, accountable leadership, and the deliberate inclusion of women in decision-making across the continent.

At the conclusion of the colloquium, it can be seen that the call for courageous leadership became a common thread across the contributions of all speakers and especially from from His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio who stated that “Africa must choose strategy over reactions. We must no longer be a continent shaped by events, but one that shapes events. We must deepen intra-African trade.”

Through his work in cultural diplomacy, institution-building, and social impact, His Majesty continues to advance a model of African leadership that is strategic, people-centered, and future-focused. His commitment is to an Africa that defines global conversations through its own values, ideas, and capacity.

His Royal Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR, today delivered a keynote address at the African Young Leaders’ Convergence, an event of the 2nd Julius Maada Bio Leadership Colloquium in honour of His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio as he celebrates his birthday in Freetown, Sierra Leone.

Addressing an audience comprising national leaders, policymakers, students, emerging African changemakers and other young African minds, His Majesty spoke on the urgent need for stronger leadership cultures, institutional thinking, and deliberate investment in Africa’s growing youth population.

Four years ago, His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, the Olu of Warri, and Her Majesty Olori Atuwatse III arrived in the historic city of Kumasi as Special Guests of His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, at the Akwasidae Grand Durbar. This year, Their Majesties returned for the historic World-Meets-in-Ghana Executive Dinner Ball, themed “Celebrating a Pillar of Peace,” marking the 27th anniversary of the Asantehene’s coronation.

Moments like this reflect a growing continent rooted in legacy and moving forward in solidarity, as Africa continues to rise, with its royal institutions standing together to celebrate shared heritage and intentionally blurring the lines that seem to divide us.

Their Majesties extend to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and the entire Asante Kingdom warm wishes from the Warri Kingdom and pray for many more years of continued wisdom, strength, and prosperity, as well as happy festivities for the rest of the anniversary celebrations.

“I acknowledge my brother, His Majesty, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II with deepest respect. Even before my ascension, I have admired you from a distance, and today I am happy to honor and celebrate you at your right hand side.

I affirm you as a builder and guardian of peace, which is the the result of deliberate leadership and I must highlight your influence to stability within Ghana and beyond (I know there are politicians in the room, including a former president, but to many of us outside Ghana, I dare say Otumfo, in his own regal way, represents the face of Ghana)

I make it clear, that peace enables growth, investment, and dignity, it leads favorable outcomes in communities, emphasizes order, trust, and continuity as the base of development

As a fellow monarch, I must take this opportunity to present monarchy as a stabilising force in modern Africa, especially when the monarchy is God led & people focused.

God who ordained it, and ancestors who have uphelled it, will all be watching without any pressure whatsoever, of course, to ensure that you do better than they did, and hand an enviable inheritance to those coming after you.
The throne comes with cultural authority, moral voice, and continuity.

In conclusion your majesty, I offer my goodwill for continued wisdom and strength in Otumfuo’s reign, I Affirm solidarity between the Warri Kingdom and the Asante Kingdom. I also look forward to more years of peace and prosperity in Ashanti Kingdom, in Ghana, & across Africa

God bless you”

Whenever African monarchs convene, a vibrant celebration of ancestry and the sacred duty to uphold the soul of the continent is renewed. Their assembly always exemplifies the pride of kingdoms, the wisdom of past generations, and the continuous connection that unites Africa’s diverse cultures into a formidable shared heritage.

Along His Majesty’s journey to Kumasi to commemorate the 27th coronation anniversary of Otumfo Nana Osei Tutu II, His Majesty made a distinguished stop in Accra to honour the Ga Mantse, King of the Ga state, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II. A gracious courtesy visit symbolizing unity and the enduring brotherhood among both African thrones.

Since their initial meeting in London at a dinner hosted by King Charles III of England, both monarchs have formed a warm and lasting relationship, committed to strengthening the bonds between their kingdoms and promoting the broader African legacy.
