Renewed Hope Ambassadors Congratulate APC Over Peaceful Presidential Primaries

The Akwa Ibom State chapter of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors has congratulated the leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, party faithful and stakeholders over what it described as the peaceful and orderly conduct of the presidential primaries and other party elections.

In a statement dated May 24, 2026, and signed by the State Coordinator, Obong Prince Ikim, the group said the exercise reflected unity, decorum and democratic maturity within the party.

According to the statement, the atmosphere during the process showed the strength of the Renewed Hope Agenda championed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and the ARISE Agenda of Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, Ph.D.

The group said the peaceful conduct of the primaries sent a strong message to Nigerians that the APC remained committed to internal democracy, peace and progress.

It also commended the Electoral Committee, security agencies and party members in Akwa Ibom State for ensuring that the exercise was hitch-free and credible.

The Renewed Hope Ambassadors said the outcome had strengthened its resolve to intensify grassroots mobilisation and sustain momentum towards delivering victory for the party in the coming elections.

“Let us continue to work together, united in purpose, as we advance the vision of a prosperous, secure and inclusive Nigeria under the Renewed Hope Agenda,” the statement said.

The group added that its message remained: “One Party, One Message, One Mobilisation Framework.”

President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope must deliver for Nigerians — Ikim

As the ruling All Progressives Congress braces up for the 2027 general election, the Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Akwa Ibom State, Prince Ikim, has urged Nigerians to remain patient with ongoing reforms of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, insisting that the administration’s policies are already laying the foundation for long-term national stability and prosperity.

Ikim said Nigeria is at a defining moment that requires courage, resilience and clarity, stressing that the reforms introduced by the Tinubu administration are “not mere policy shifts, but difficult and necessary steps toward long-term stability and prosperity.”

According to him, while many families and businesses across the country, including those in Akwa Ibom State, are feeling the pressure of economic adjustments, the broader objective is to correct structural distortions that have slowed growth for decades.

He noted that the Renewed Hope agenda is gradually connecting government policies to the grassroots, citing recent remarks by the Director-General of the movement and Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma.
Ikim quoted Uzodimma as saying the structures established under the Renewed Hope initiative are “alive, active, coordinated, and already yielding measurable political and civic dividends.”

He said the statement reflects a strategy that goes beyond policy formulation in Abuja, adding that structures have been inaugurated across local governments and electoral wards, while enumeration is ongoing down to polling unit levels.
“This is a clear attempt to build an organised, data-driven framework for citizen outreach,” Ikim stated.

“More importantly, the emphasis on taking the message directly to markets, schools, professional bodies, women’s groups and faith-based platforms shows an understanding that reforms only succeed when they are explained, understood and owned by the people.”

The coordinator maintained that sustained engagement is crucial at a time of economic transition when public trust can easily weaken without regular communication and visible results.

On subnational leadership, Ikim commended Governor Umo Eno for what he described as pragmatic governance aimed at cushioning the impact of national reforms while positioning the state for growth.

He also praised Senate President Godswill Akpabio for providing legislative backing to ensure that reforms are sustained through effective laws and oversight.

However, Ikim cautioned that advocacy must be matched with accountability.
“Hope cannot rest on structure and messaging alone; it must translate into tangible improvements in people’s lives — jobs, stability and opportunity,” he said.
He added that the Renewed Hope project should be seen as more than a political slogan.

“Renewed hope is not mainly for politics but for purpose, not mainly for election but for national renewal, not mainly for slogan but for the moral and political tact of translating the vision of Mr President into mass understanding, and understanding into enduring democratic support,” he said.

Tinubu to Renewed Hope Ambassadors: I Will Not Let Nigerians Down

President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his commitment to building a stable, peaceful and prosperous Nigeria, telling members of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors that the well-being of Nigerians remains his top priority.

Speaking on Thursday at the State House in Abuja while receiving a delegation of the group led by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, the President said his administration was steadily replacing political and economic structures that had long worked against the prosperity of Nigerians.

He said the government would sustain reforms designed to create more opportunities for poor and vulnerable citizens and expand participation in the economy.

Tinubu urged the Renewed Hope Ambassadors to deepen grassroots sensitisation and mobilisation on the administration’s efforts to improve livelihoods through economic reforms.

He said the more citizens take part in shaping their lives and future, the stronger the country would become for generations to come.

“You represent the conscience of a nation that wants to break the shackles of poverty and hopelessness,” the President said.

Tinubu also said his administration would uphold democratic principles, including the rule of law, separation of powers and the rights of all citizens.

He said Nigeria must remain committed to lawful processes and respect for the judiciary, whether court decisions favour those in power or not.

“We cannot submit to disobedience of a lawful order of the court. We must embrace the judiciary, whether it favours us or not,” he said.

The President said there was no path to national greatness other than building a common vision for the progress and prosperity of the people. He added that his government remained focused on inclusive growth, youth opportunities and a future in which every Nigerian, regardless of region or background, has a stake.

Tinubu also warned against misinformation from opposition elements, saying citizens should not be discouraged by narratives that seek to undermine confidence in ongoing reforms.

Responding to critics, the President said he would not be distracted and would remain committed to national development.

“They want to scare me off? It’s a lie. I’ve been through this path before. There is no better place than your own country. And no one can build it except you,” he said.

He promised members of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors that he would remain their strongest supporter and would not abandon the task of governance.

Earlier, Uzodimma, who is Director-General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, said the delegation visited the President to brief him on the progress of the group’s national assignment.

He said the structure created by the President was active, coordinated and already delivering measurable political and civic impact across the country.

According to him, regional activities had commenced in earnest, with local government and ward structures inaugurated and data collection extended to the polling unit level.

Uzodimma said the group was taking its message to markets, schools, professional bodies, women’s groups, faith-based platforms and grassroots political structures.

He praised Tinubu’s leadership and assured him of the group’s loyalty and commitment to the success of the assignment.

Also speaking, former Katsina State Governor Aminu Bello Masari, who serves as North-West Zonal Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, described Tinubu as a courageous and dogged reformer.

Masari said reform efforts often come with early difficulties, especially in a complex society, but insisted the President had taken hard but necessary decisions that previous leaders avoided.

He said leaders in the North-West were solidly behind the All Progressives Congress and would tour federal projects in the zone to improve public awareness of government achievements.

The APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, also praised Tinubu for what he described as an infrastructure revolution driven by the administration’s reform programmes.

Vice President Kashim Shettima attended the meeting, alongside several serving governors, former governors, former Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim, APC National Secretary Senator Ajibola Bashiru, zonal coordinators of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, directors and the Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Ibrahim Masari.

The statement was issued by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga on April 16, 2026.
