Stakeholders Meeting held at NSCDC Office, Uyo: Enhancing Telecom Security through Collaboration

We recently held a productive meeting with representatives from leading telecom companies, including ATC, IHS, MTN, GLO, and ECC, at the NSCDC Office in Uyo. The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration between telecom providers and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) to protect critical telecom infrastructure.

Key directives from the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) were shared, emphasizing the need for:
Physical presence of telecom companies with NSCDC State Commandants
Direct communication between company state officers and NSCDC
Appointment of Local Liaison Officers in every LGA
Addressing insider threats contributing to BTS vandalism
Coordinated protection plans with private security guards
CCTV footage for reported infractions
Comprehensive asset inventory for effective protection

We discussed strategies to address vandalism and attacks on BTS sites, including engaging community leaders and government officials.

Vandalization of private or government infrastructure is a CRIME, if you see something, say something. Let's make it our duties to keep our infrastructures safe. Call 112 if you suspect anything.

The ECC Uyo sensitisation team paid a courtesy visit to the Akwa Ibom State Ministry of Health's Emergency Operations Centre (EOC). We're excited to collaborate and enhance emergency response efforts in our state.

We were love at the inaugural lecture of our very distinguished Professor Anthony Effiong Usoro in a bid to sensitize the guests and students of Akwa Ibom State University. The event which was held at the Main Campus, AKSU Ikot Akpaden drew the presence of many, worthy to mention is the Commissioner for Education Akwa Ibom State; Professor Ubong Umoh amongst others.

This visit marks a significant step towards fostering partnerships and enhancing emergency response in our state. Key areas of focus include:

✨ Connecting emergency lines for seamless communication
✨ Creating a real-time feedback and referral platform
