The Executive Secretary/CEO, Col. Kingsley Umoh (Rtd), conducted a working visit to the Ikono Local Government Area Council, where he was received by the Council Chairman, Hon. Engr. Oto-obong Okon Essien and members of the Council Executive.

The engagement addressed the state of security coordination within Ikono LGA, with particular attention to operational gaps, the effectiveness of existing community-based response structures, and the Local Government's role in sustaining public order at the grassroots level.

The Akwa Ibom State Security Trust Fund and the Council reached consensus on priority intervention areas, with both institutions committing to a defined framework for ongoing collaboration. Specific follow-up actions have been identified and will be executed within the AKSTF's current operational cycle.
This engagement is part of the Akwa Ibom Security Trust Fund systematic interface with Local Government Councils across Akwa Ibom State — an initiative designed to ensure that security delivery remains coordinated, accountable, and responsive to conditions on the ground.

The Akwa Ibom Security Trust Fund (AKSTF) led by the Executive Secretary/CEO, Col Kingsley Umoh (Rtd), undertook a working visit to Oron Local Government Area, convening a high-level, multi-stakeholder engagement aimed at strengthening the interface between local governance systems and the State’s security architecture.

Deliberations focused on enhancing community-based intelligence frameworks, reinforcing inter-agency coordination, and establishing more structured and responsive mechanisms for addressing emerging security concerns within the LGA. Emphasis was placed on formalizing channels for information flow, improving operational synergy among security formations, and sustaining stakeholder engagement at the grassroots level.

The delegation was received by the Executive Chairman, Hon. Okon Asuquo, alongside the Vice Chairman, Hon. Princess Nse Owobiak; the Secretary of Council, Engr. Asuquo Asuquo; the Leader of the Legislative Council, Hon. (Mrs.) Sarah Efretuei; Councillors and Supervisors; as well as the Head of Local Government Service, Mrs. Grace George Ekpo, and Directors of Council.

Also in attendance were key security stakeholders, including the Area Commander, ACP Hope Fubara; the Divisional Police Officer, CSP MD Ibraheem; and other sister security agencies. Traditional institutions were represented by Royal Fathers, led by His Royal Highness, Sen. Nelson Effiong, Clan Head of Okpo. Political stakeholders, aides to the Governor, former office holders, party representatives, and community youth leaders were equally present, reflecting a broad-based convergence of critical actors within Oron LGA.

The visit further included an inspection of ongoing Council projects, underscoring the nexus between functional local infrastructure and a stable, secure operating environment.

This engagement is in alignment with the ARISE Agenda of His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State and reinforces a security approach that is structured, collaborative, and anchored on effective local participation.

STRENGTHENING THE GRASSROOT SECURITY ARCHITECTURE: AKSTF DEEPENS STRATEGIC SYNERGY WITH EASTERN OBOLO LGA.

​In a decisive move to fortify the security pillar of the ARISE Agenda, the Akwa Ibom State Security Trust Fund (AKSTF) has intensified its strategic engagement with the Eastern Obolo Local Government Administration.

The Executive Secretary/CEO, Col. Kingsley Umoh (Rtd), convened a high-level consultative session with the Executive Chairman, Rt. Hon. Samuel Samuel Nteogwuijah, to evaluate the synergy between local administrative frameworks and security operations. During the deliberations, the Executive Secretary emphasized the imperative of harmonizing grassroots intelligence with state-level security assets to ensure a proactive safety net.

​In his remarks, the Council Chairman commended the AKSTF’s proactive approach and expressed a strong commitment to working collaboratively with the Trust Fund. Security coordination across Local Government Areas in Akwa Ibom State continues to receive sustained attention through ongoing stakeholder engagements aimed at strengthening local response structures and intelligence support systems.

As part of this effort, the Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the Akwa Ibom State Security Trust Fund, Col Kingsley Umoh, led a strategic meeting in Eket Local Government Area with relevant stakeholders. The meeting provided a platform for a critical review of existing security arrangements within the area, with particular attention to security coordination, response mechanisms, and the strengthening of community-based structures for effective intelligence gathering and collaboration.

In his remarks, the Chairman of Eket Local Government Area, Hon. Akaniyene Tommey Ikott, reaffirmed the commitment of the Local Government to work closely with the Trust Fund and other relevant stakeholders in strengthening security within the Local Government Area.

This engagement forms part of ongoing efforts by the Akwa Ibom State Government, under the executive leadership of His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, to strengthen operational cohesion and sustain a proactive approach to the protection of lives and property across the State.

RETIREMENT CEREMONY OF AGATHA GINIKA ODIKA, COMPTROLLER OF NIGERIA IMMIGRATION SERVICE , AKWA IBOM STATE COMMAND.

The Nigeria Immigration Service AKWA Ibom State Command celebrated CIS AG Odika retirement on April 2, 2026, at the Command Headquarters, Attan Offot, in Uyo.

The occasion had in attendance the presence of the State Governor, His Excellency Pastor Umo Eno PhD, represented by DIG Adeyemi Ogunjemilusi Rtd, who is serving as the Honorary Special Adviser on security to the Governor, the Coordinator, Office of the First Lady, Akwa Ibom State, Lady Helen Eno Obareki , Service Commanders, Royal Fathers, Commissioners, and Heads of Security Agencies, Chairmen of Boards and Parastatals including the Chairman of Akwa Ibom State Security Trust Fund, ably represented by the Executive Secretary of the Akwa Ibom State Security Trust Fund, Col. Kingsley Umoh Rtd, all paid glowing tributes to the Officer's years of meritorious service.

The Governor's representative at the event described the Comptroller as a woman of substance, a seasoned Officer, a visionary and astute manager of human resources, noting that her retirement marks the culmination of years of selfless sacrifice, professionalism, and commitment to national security.

The First Lady Designate, Lady Helen Eno Obareki, represented at the event by the member representing Uruan State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Dr. Itoro Etim, praised the Comptroller's professionalism and human-centred approach to migration management saying "In a sector that demands both toughness and tact, Comptroller Odika has demonstrated that excellence knows no gender", and wished her a retirement filled with good health, and new adventures.

Highlights at the event included goodwill messages, drama, cultural display, cutting of retirement cake and awards to stakeholders and deserving officers of the command.

The Comptroller retired April 5, leaving a legacy of integrity and service.

The Executive Secretary, Akwa Ibom State Security Trust Fund, Col Kingsley Umoh RTD, undertook a working visit to Urue Offong/Oruko LGA as part of the AKSTF ongoing assessment of security structures across Local Government Areas.

The engagement focused on reviewing existing security coordination at the council level and aligning local operational realities with the State’s broader security framework.

Key highlights of the visit centered on on-site engagement with the Council Chairman, Rt. Hon. Uno Etim Uno, on current security priorities within the LGA, identification of areas requiring strengthened collaboration between local authorities and security agencies, reinforcement of the AKSTF’s support role in enabling responsive and community-informed security interventions.

The Council Chairman, Rt. Hon. Uno Etim reaffirmed the LGA’s commitment to sustaining security partnerships in line with the State’s coordinated approach.
