PUBLIC NOTICE

CHILD FOUND WANDERING IN EASTERN OBOLO, POLICE SEEK PARENTS

Authorities in Eastern Obolo are seeking the parents or guardians of a young boy, estimated to be around four years old, who was found wandering alone yesterday, May 29, 2025.

At approximately 10:00 AM, a good Samaritan , discovered the child standing by himself along the CNG Point, Atabrikang Road, brought the boy to the Eastern Obolo Police Station at about 12:00 PM.

The child, is dark in complexion with "white eyes" and is approximately 1.4 meters tall. He is unable to communicate verbally but seems to understand the Obolo language. Despite efforts to trace his family, the boy's parents or guardians have not yet been identified.

AKWA IBOM STATE POLICE COMMAND

AKWA IBOM STATE POLICE COMMAND NABS SUSPECTED CULTISTS, RECOVERS FI****MS.

On Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at approximately 6:30 PM, operatives of the Command acting on credible information, successfully apprehended a suspected dangerous cult gang. The suspects have been terrorizing Ibesikpo Asutan and its neighboring communities.

The arrests took place at the cultists' hideout in Ikot Etuk Village, Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area. During the operation, Operatives recovered:
• one locally made pistol
• ⁠one fabricated single-barrel gun
• ⁠assorted charms.

The arrested gang members have been identified as:
• Utibe Edem Asuquo, male, 31 years old
• Godwin Edet Edem, male, 32 years old
• Usen Edem Eyo, male, 29 years old
• Aniebiet Edet Edem, male, 28 years old
• Anthony Dominic Edem, male, 32 years old

The suspects have voluntarily provided useful information to the police regarding their criminal activities. This includes their involvement in a recent attack on Fulani herdsmen, which resulted in the killing of two cows. The stolen cows were reportedly shared among various cult groups within Ibesikpo Asutan.

Efforts are currently underway to apprehend other fleeing gang members and recover their operational weapons. Further developments will be communicated to the public as they unfold.

AKWA IBOM POLICE COMMAND ARRESTS SUSPECTED CULTIST, RECOVERS FIREARM

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has announced the arrest of a suspected notorious cultist, leading to the recovery of a locally made pistol and a cutlass.

Based on credible information at the Command’s disposal about a suspected cultist terrorizing Utine Nduong, Okobo LGA and its environs, Operatives of the command immediately swung into action and arrested one Effiong Umoh, a 38-year-old male.

A search conducted on the suspect revealed the hidden firearm and cutlass.

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command confirms that discrete investigation is ongoing to apprehend other gang members and recover any additional operational weapons they may possess.

AKWA IBOM STATE POLICE COMMAND.

POLICE RAIDS, RECOVERS STOLEN PROPERTIES, TWO ARRESTED.

In a significant intelligence-led operation, Operatives of the Command successfully raided a location on Udi Street, Uyo, leading to the arrest of two individuals and the recovery of numerous stolen items.

Acting on credible intelligence and in compliance with the Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Mohammed Azare’s directive, an operation was launched at approximately 1:15am of May 23rd, 2025. The raid resulted in the arrest of Babangida Idris Usman and Awalu Abdullahi, both suspected receivers of stolen property.

Among the items recovered were 14 sewing machine heads and a generator. So far, two complainants have come forward and positively identified their stolen machines among the recovered items.

Investigation into the matter is ongoing.
