Akwa Ibom State has come to stay as a destination for business, pleasure and everything in between. So it was that the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment brought the 11th Meeting of the National Council on Industry, Trade and Investment to the State.

It was a 4 days event which took place at the prestigious Ibom Hall in Uyo. The theme of the event was 'The Role of Small and Medium Businesses in Poverty Alleviation in Nigeria: The Way Forward'

The event was well attended by the Federal representatives as well as the representatives of the 36 States in the Country. The Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment as well as the Minister of State were on hand to move the economy to the next level by making their own contributions towards alleviating poverty in Nigeria.

His Excellency, Mr Udom Emmanuel was represented at the event by the Deputy Governor, Mr Moses Ekpo. A broad spectrum of Akwa Ibom people turned up for the event in the spirit of dakkada with the passion to create wealth and move the state economy to the next level. And the traditional hospitality that Akwa Ibom State is known for was not spared the guests.

Akwa Ibom Investment Corporation (AKICORP) was at Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly (AKHA) to defend the 2020 budget. Leading the team was the Executive Chairman of AKICORP, Dr Elijah Akpan who made the presentation.

The Akwa Ibom State Goverment, in a bid to energise its Completion Agenda towards industrialisation revolution in the State, has set up A-One-Stop-Shop to comprehensively articulate industrialisation in the State.
With the creation of the Directorate of Agricultural Investment in AKICORP, A-One-Stop-Shop on agricultural matters has also been set up to coordinate all agricultural projects in the State.
The One-Stop-Shop is made up of all the MDAs that are involved in investment decision so that decisions are fast-tracked.
AKICORP has joined the One-Stop-Shop to synergise its operations with that of the other MDAs for maximum benefit of our investing public.
Potential investors & promoters are thus encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to work with A-One-Stop-Investment-Agency of the State Government for economic benefit of the people.
