ARISE with Renewed Hope Initiative : Ini Obot Reviews Governance Strides and Political Outlook in Akwa Ibom
The Director of Research and Documentation, ARISE with Renewed Hope Initiative, Elder Ini Obot, has given insights on the governance strides of the Akwa Ibom State Governor and provided broader clarity on the objectives of the initiative.
He explained that the ARISE with Renewed Hope Initiative is aimed at mobilising grassroots support to ensure that the electorate consolidate the gains of democracy and return President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu , Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and the Governor, Pastor Umo Eno for continued governance and development.
Speaking on the programme Good Morning Akwa Ibom on Bridge Media, Memories FM, hosted by ace journalist and leader, Hon. Itoro Columba, Elder Obot noted that Governor Umo Eno has improved the lives of citizens through targeted interventions across all sectors of development, including infrastructure, agriculture, healthcare, and social welfare.
He highlighted ongoing road projects across the state, agricultural investments aimed at strengthening food security, as well as healthcare reforms such as hospital renovation and improved emergency response systems. He also noted interventions in other critical areas of governance designed to enhance overall living standards.
According to him, these efforts reflect a leadership style that is intentional and people-focused, impacting virtually every facet of life in the state.
ObongUnwana Ini Obot also referenced President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, noting that it has continued to implement policies aimed at improving the welfare of Nigerians. He particularly mentioned the coastal road project and expressed support for efforts to advance the Ibom Deep Seaport project as part of broader federal-state collaboration.
He further commended the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, for what he described as an excellent and impactful legislative leadership style, which has brought pride and visibility to Akwa Ibom State at the national level.
On state politics, he highlighted the growing momentum around the “Akwa Ibom United” movement promoted by Governor Umo Eno, noting that the overwhelming reception recorded at local government chapter inaugurations reflects widespread public enthusiasm. According to him, the turnout suggests that citizens are not only satisfied with governance but are also highly prepared and eager to support continuity into a second term.
Elder Obot also extended goodwill to the All Progressives Congress (APC), stating that the initiative remains committed to supporting all candidates that emerge from the party’s primaries in order to ensure a decisive electoral victory. He noted that, in his view, APC remains the dominant political force in the state.
He concluded that the combined leadership of President Tinubu, Senate President Akpabio, and Governor Umo Eno represents a strong alignment that has positively influenced governance outcomes and public engagement across Akwa Ibom State.
