It is my birthday.

It has been another year of God's grace, favour and mercy in my life, that of my family and our nation, Nigeria as a whole.

The last one year has been remarkable whether to me as a person or to our nation, Nigeria. Undoubdtedly there have been challenges but we have overcome them all by the grace of the Almighty God.

I give God all the glory and pray for better years ahead in the service of our dear nation and humanity.

Happy Birthday to me and thank God for the gift of another year.

THANK YOU MY GOVERNOR FOR TAKING US TO THE CENTRE

Today, I joined President Bola Tinubu GCFR, who was represented by Vice president, Kashim Shettima GCON, to formally receive my Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, into the APC family.

The ceremony was witnessed by the National Chairman of our party; Dr Umar Ganduje, members of the Progressive Governors' Forum, members of the National Assembly and chieftains and leaders of our great party, inside the main bowl of the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.

I thanked our governor for taking the bold step of linking the state to the centre in the overall interest of our people. I assured him that he, and by extension the state, will not regret his action because the APC led Federal Government under President Tinubu is a forthright one that keeps to its words.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY JEWEL!

My dear wife, Her Excellency, Dr (Mrs) Ekaette Unoma Godswill Akpabio, words cannot describe my joy as you add another year to your age today.

Your life is replete with positive impact on humanity.
Your love for fellow women, children and the less privileged in our society will continue to be celebrated.

You made my tenure as Governor of Akwa Ibom State exceptional when as the First Lady of the State 2007 – 2015 you initiated numerous programmes through the Family Life Enhancement Initiative (FLEI) which changed frowns to smiles on the faces of thousands of Akwa Ibom people. Your good deeds especially your humility in the service of our women, children and the vulnerable shall never be forgotten.

Even out of office as the First Lady of Akwa Ibom State, you have continued to impact lives through numerous empowerment initiatives, medical outreaches and other interventions like building houses for widows and the vulnerable.

My family is blessed to have a God-fearing wife/mother like you.

On behalf of myself, the children and the good people of Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial District, I wish you a happy birthday and many happy returns.

CONDOLENCE VISIT

Today, Senator Akpabio was accompanied by some of his Distinguished colleagues on a condolence visit to the family of late elderstatesman, Obong Emmanuel Eno Peter Umanah, a former Commissioner for Trade and Commerce in the old Cross River State, who passed to the great beyond at the age of 80.

Pa Umanah was a man of peace who played a key role in uniting Annang land. He was a transformational leader who helped to attract major industries, such as a biscuit factory, the Sunshine Battery Industry and other industries to the area.

He was a trusted ally, who stood by him during turbulent political times and has left behind worthy successors to carry on his legacy.

WELCOME TO THE FOLD MY GOVERNOR

It is with utmost joy that I received our governor, Pastor Umo Eno PhD, his deputy, Akon Eyakenyi, All Progressives Congress Governors led by the chairman of the Forum, Hope Uzodimma and other stakeholders of our party, at my residence in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, after the historic defection of my brother, Governor Eno, members of the State Executive Council, Federal and State lawmakers, as well as council chairmen into the Progressives' family.
