At age 21, Jobs sold his Volkswagen bus for $1,500, while Wozniak sold his Hewlett-Packard calculator for $500.

Together, the sales provided the funds for their initial venture.

With this capital, Jobs and Wozniak embarked on producing the Apple I, introduced on April Fools Day in 1976.

A local computer dealer placed a substantial order for 100 units for $50,000, a significant milestone for the fledgling company.

To meet this demand, they purchased parts on credit, giving them a tight timeframe of one month to fulfill the order.

Leveraging the support of family and friends, they completed the order, earning their first revenue and narrowly managing to pay off the parts suppliers with just a day to spare.

They later met Armas Clifford "Mike" Markkula, a former manager at Fairchild Semiconductor International and Intel, who played a crucial role in the company’s development.

Markkula assisted in crafting a business plan and invested $92,000, in addition to helping arrange a $250,000 credit line.

The Apple I, marketed for $666.66 each, earned the company around $774,000.
Following the launch of the Apple II, Apple’s sales skyrocketed to $139 million, three years after its release.

The pivotal moment for Apple came in 1980 when it became a publicly traded company.

On its first day of trading, Apple’s market value reached $1.2 billion.

By the end of the day, the market capitalization stood at $1.8 billion, a remarkable achievement considering the company started in Jobs' garage.

In 1983, Jobs recruited John Sculley from Pepsi-Cola to be CEO of Apple.
The following year, they released the Macintosh, marketing it as part of a counterculture lifestyle.

Despite its positive sales and superior performance to IBM's PCs, the Macintosh struggled with compatibility issues with IBM systems.

Because of internal disagreements and strategic differences, Jobs was eventually phased out of the company he co-founded and left Apple in 1985.

Jobs returned to Apple as CEO in 1997.

He played a pivotal role in reviving the company, which was facing financial turmoil and was said to be on the verge of bankruptcy.

Over the years, Apple transformed from a personal computer company to a leader in cutting-edge digital products.

By the time of Jobs’ death in 2011, Apple had achieved a market value of $391 billion.

In 2019, UFC fighter Polyana Viana showcased her self-defense skills when a man attempted to rob her at gunpoint outside her apartment in Rio de Janeiro. While waiting for an Uber, Viana was approached by an attacker who claimed to have a gun and demanded her smartphone. However, she quickly realized the weapon was fake. Using her mixed martial arts (MMA) training, Viana landed two powerful punches and a kick, knocking the man down. She then secured him in a rear-naked choke, restraining him until the police arrived. The so-called “gun” turned out to be a cardboard cutout, and the suspect, who had a history of criminal activity, was taken to the hospital before being sent to jail.

Viana, unharmed and unfazed, simply went home and made dinner after the incident. Her real-life self-defense story quickly went viral, highlighting the importance of martial arts training for personal safety.

In the 1970s, Volvo shipped 1,000 Volvo 144 sedans to North Korea. However, the country never paid for the shipment, leaving the automaker with a baffling loss that some label as one of the largest car thefts in history.

Multiple media reports and historical records note that this unpaid shipment turned into a notorious incident. While details vary, the core fact-that the vehicles were delivered without payment-has been well documented over the years.

In the 19th century, condoms were crafted from fish bladders and designed to be reusable, requiring washing after each use. To keep them in place, they were secured with ties around the limb, preventing slippage.

However, the invention of vulcanized rubber, patented by Charles Goodyear in 1844, revolutionized condom manufacturing. This led to the production of thick yet reusable rubber condoms.

It wasn’t until the early 20th century that latex condoms emerged, offering a thinner, disposable alternative that became the standard.

Did you know? In Germany, an old submarine, the U-boot U17, was transported by road to the Technik Museum in Sinsheim, a technology museum! The U17, which is an impressive 48 meters long and 450 tons, was withdrawn from service after
37 years of operations and is now being displayed at the museum.
Transporting the submarine was a gigantic operation that lasted 15 months and covered more than 650 kilometers. To ensure it reached its destination, it was necessary to close highways, remove signs and even use a special 30-axis platform! The total cost of the project was approximately 2 million euros, financed by donations.
In 2025, the submarine will be open for viewing, allowing everyone to explore its interior! A real logistics adventure to preserve a piece of history.

Thanks Obama.

1. There was no electricity bill in Libya; electricity was free for all its citizens.

2. There was no interest on loans, banks in Libya were state-owned and loans given to all its citizens at zero percent interest by law.

5. Education and medical treatments were free in Libya. Before Gaddafi only 25 percent of Libyans were literate. Today, the figure is 83%.

6. If Libyans wanted to take up a farming career, they would have received farming land, a farming house, equipment, seeds and livestock to kickstart their farms... all for free.

8. If a Libyan bought a car, the government used to subsidize 50 percent of the price.

9. The price of petrol in Libya was £0.09 per litre. NINE PENCE!!!!!

15. 25 percent of Libyans now have a university degree.

16. Gaddafi carried out the world's largest irrigation project, known as the Great Manmade River project, to make water readily available throughout the desert country.

Gaddafi wrote, “They want to do to Libya what they did to Iraq and what they are itching to do to Iran. They want to take back the oil, which was nationalized by these country’s revolutions. They want to re-establish military bases that were shut down by the revolutions and to install client regimes that will subordinate the country’s wealth and labor to imperialist corporate interests. All else is lies and deception.”

The conflict between the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Rwanda is escalating rapidly. DRC President Felix Tshisekedi has asked parliament to declare war against Rwanda-backed M23 rebels, vowing to take back Goma, which fell to the rebels last week.

In a bold move, Tshisekedi is mobilizing forces for a serious counterattack. This development comes after Rwanda's President Kagame warned that Rwandans are "not afraid to fight and die." Kagame has also threatened to take on not only the DRC but also South Africa, which lost nine soldiers in the conflict last week.

The situation is indeed getting messy, and civilians are, unfortunately, bearing the brunt of the conflict. The M23 rebels, largely composed of ethnic Tutsis, have received financial support, training, and equipment from the Rwandan government, according to Tshisekedi

As tensions rise, the international community is watching with bated breath, hoping for a peaceful resolution to the conflict.

Titus Okere made history as the first Nigerian to sign with a European club when he joined Swindon Town FC in February 1953. Prior to this, he had a remarkable football journey, starting with Ziks Athletic Club Bombers in 1938 and later moving to Lagos Railways, where he captained the team.

Born in Owerri, Okere achieved another milestone on October 8, 1949, when he scored Nigeria’s first official international goal (deflected into the net by captain Ashman) in a 2-0 victory over Sierra Leone in front of 15,000 fans in Freetown.

At just 20 years old, Okere was also one of the 18 pioneering members of Nigeria’s national football team, known then as the UK Tourists, which toured the United Kingdom in August 1949. The team would later become known as the Red Devils.

Titus Davis Okere, often called “the last of the first," passed away on June 14, 2023, at the age of 94.

This is what the two boxers looked like when they fought 110 rounds! Yes, you read that right, 110 rounds of 3 minutes (7 hours and 19 minutes of fighting!)
It was April 6, 1893, Andy Browen and Jack Burke The fight ended in a No-Contest because when the 111th round was called, the two exhausted and swollen boxers were unable to get up from the stool to continue the fight
It is of course the longest boxing fight in history.
