MPB Chairman Meets Director of Veteran Affairs, Nigerian Navy

The Chairman, Military Pensions Board (MPB), Air Vice Marshal Mikail Abdulraheem, today hosted the Director of Veteran Affairs, Headquarters Nigerian Navy, Rear Admiral R. Taofeeq, at the Board’s headquarters in Abuja.

The meeting, which was chaired by the Chairman, focused on strengthening collaboration between the Military Pensions Board and the Nigerian Navy on matters relating to the welfare and pension administration of naval veterans.

The engagement buttresses the Board’s continued commitment to working closely with service headquarters to enhance coordination and ensure efficient delivery of pension services to military retirees.

Executive Secretary, PTAD Pays Courtesy Visit to Military Pensions Board

The Executive Secretary of the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD), Mrs. Tolulope Odunaiya, alongside members of her delegation, yesterday paid a courtesy visit to the Military Pensions Board in Abuja where they were received by the Chairman of the Board, Air Vice Marshal Mikail Abdulraheem.

During the visit, Mrs. Odunaiya expressed appreciation to the Chairman for granting the delegation an audience and for the warm reception accorded to her team. She highlighted the significant role PTAD continues to play in pension administration and also spoke on the recent pension increments approved by the Federal Government. She further noted the importance of stronger collaboration between PTAD and the Military Pensions Board, particularly in the areas of knowledge sharing and institutional engagement aimed at improving pension administration across the sector.

The Chairman In his response, thanked the Executive Secretary and her delegation for the visit. He emphasized that he shares the firm belief that every retiree deserves to earn and receive their pension benefits, assuring that the Military Pensions Board will continue to do everything within its mandate to ensure that all military veterans duly receive their entitlements.

The Chairman also expressed appreciation to the President and Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for their continued support toward the welfare of military veterans.

Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Defence Pays Courtesy Visit to Military Pensions Board

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Defence, Mr. Richard Pheelangwah, alongside members of his entourage, today paid a courtesy visit to the Military Pensions Board (MPB) in Abuja, where he was received by the Chairman of the Board, Air Vice Marshal Mikail Abdulraheem.

In his remarks, Mr. Pheelangwah expressed appreciation to the Chairman for the warm reception accorded to him and his team. He commended the Board for its effective administration of pension and gratuity benefits to military retirees, noting that the work of the Military Pensions Board remains fundamental to recognising the sacrifices and contributions of members of the Armed Forces.

The Permanent Secretary emphasized that military veterans represent valuable national assets whose services to the nation must always be acknowledged and held in high esteem. He further stressed the importance of maintaining close collaboration between the Ministry of Defence and the Military Pensions Board, adding that stronger institutional cooperation would help enhance policy development and service delivery in pension administration.

Mr. Pheelangwah also appreciated the professionalism and dedication demonstrated by the personnel of the Board in the discharge of their responsibilities, assuring that the Ministry of Defence remains committed to supporting initiatives and collaborations that will further strengthen the Board’s operations and improve services to military pensioners.

In his response, the Chairman of the Military Pensions Board thanked the Permanent Secretary for the visit and reaffirmed the Board’s readiness to continue working closely with the Ministry of Defence in advancing the welfare of military retirees and their Next-of-Kin.

At the end of the meeting, the Chairman alongside the Permanent Secretary and his entourage went on a tour of the Board’s facilities, showcasing key infrastructure and operational units that support the administration and management of military pensions.

Chairman, Military Pensions Board Visits PENCOM DG to Strengthen Military Pension Administration

The Chairman, Military Pensions Board (MPB), Air Vice Marshal Mikail Abdulraheem, today paid a courtesy visit to the Director-General of the National Pension Commission (PENCOM), Mrs. Omolola Oloworaran, at the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja.

The visit was aimed at strengthening collaboration and improving service delivery to military retirees.

During the meeting, the Chairman engaged the PENCOM leadership in discussions focused on exchanging ideas and exploring innovative approaches that could further enhance the administration and management of military pensions in Nigeria. The engagement also provided an opportunity to identify areas where institutional cooperation, knowledge sharing and policy alignment could contribute to more efficient pension processes.

The Chairman emphasized the importance of continuous collaboration between the Military Pensions Board and relevant stakeholders in order to ensure that military retirees continue to receive the highest standard of pension administration.
