Back in secondary, we relocated to Ibadan with my parents and I was enrolled into ss1. Omo every one there both teachers and students called me Hausa because I said I'm from Kaduna.
It was so frustrating and disappointing too for the fact that the only teachers that understand I wasn't a Hausa girl just because I'm from the north were our government teachers.

How can that level of ignorance be so wild ?
Not all northerners are Hausa. Hausa is just a prominent ethnic group in northern Nigeria.

The northern Nigeria alone has over 250 ethic groups and over 500 different languages 🤌‼️. E.g. Some ethic groups in northern Nigeria included : Kanuri, Nupe, Kataf, many others.

And in southern Kaduna, we also have different ethnic groups like : Kanuri, Kataf (also known as Kafanchan), Bajju, Kaje, Gbagyi, Koro, Gwandara, Numana, Chawai ( and I belong to the Chawai ethic groups).

While the Hausa language is widely spoken in the region, it is not the only language, and many other languages are also spoken.

It's important to avoid making assumptions or generalizations about people based on their region or ethnicity, as each person has their own unique identity, culture, and experiences.🤗🤌❣️
