On this Armed Forces Remembrance and Celebration Day, Nigeria pauses to honour its heroes.

We remember the brave men and women of the Nigerian Armed Forces who sacrificed everything for our country.

Their names might not always be remembered, but their courage sustains our freedom and peace. A nation that forgets its fallen heroes loses its direction; Nigeria, however, remembers.

I also speak today to the families of our fallen heroes- widows, children, and loved ones. Your loss is profound, and no words can replace the sacrifices of your loved ones. They served Nigeria with honour, and our people will never forget their sacrifices.

Today, we celebrate our serving personnel. From the frontlines to support positions, on land, sea, and air, you carry the heavy responsibility of protecting our people and sovereignty with discipline, courage, and professionalism, often far from home.

As President and Commander in Chief, I reaffirm my commitment to the welfare and dignity of our Armed Forces. A secure Nigeria stands behind those who defend it. We will continue to support them in action.

May our fallen heroes rest in peace.
May God strengthen our Armed Forces.
May God bless Nigeria.

Bola Ahmed Tinubu
President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces

🔥 HAVE YOU EVER SEEN A BILLIONAIRE PROMISE SOLDIERS MILLIONS FOR WINNING A WAR?

We just saw it happen not for soldiers… but for footballers.

Yes, a billionaire Abdul Samad Rabiu promised the Super Eagles over $1 million if they win AFCON. That’s great. We love football.
But pause and think for one second…

👉 Have you ever seen any billionaire in Nigeria promise soldiers millions just for surviving Sambisa?
👉 Has anyone pledged dollars for our men sleeping in trenches, entering forests, or dying in uniform?

They don’t kick ball.
They carry rifles.
They don’t wear jerseys.
They wear camouflage.
They don’t score goals.
They sacrifice their lives.

No halftime. No cheering crowd. No sponsorship deal. Just grit, bullets, and patriotism.

Respect to the Super Eagles, yes but let’s not forget our real defenders, the ones whose victories don’t trend.

To all Nigerian soldiers:
Even if the billionaires don’t see you,
Some of us do.
And we’ll speak it loud.

They didn’t choose the easy path.
They chose to protect a nation.

Today, we honour every hero who stood in the gap for Nigeria.

Not every sacrifice is seen.
Not every story is told.

But the courage, discipline, and resilience our fallen heroes carried live on, in our nation.
In peace and in the freedoms we enjoy today.

This post is for every soldier who served with heart, humility, and honour.
And for the families who still carry their memory.
Their legacy is our responsibility to uphold.

As part of the 2025 Christmas season, the National Chairman of the Nigerian Legion presents Christmas palliatives to the widows of our fallen heroes.

Women whose resilience and quiet strength continue to inspire the values their loved ones defended.

This initiative reflects the Legion’s enduring responsibility to those who bore the cost of service and our commitment to ensuring that remembrance is matched with action.

Their sacrifice is etched into our nation’s history.
Their families remain firmly within our care.

The Nigerian Legion — service beyond the uniform.
