COMMANDANT AKINSOLA JOINS THE ABIA STATE GOVERNOR TO COMMEMORATE THE 2025 FESTIVAL OF CAROLS

The State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Abia State Command, CC Akinsola Aderemi, attended the 2025 Abia State Festival of Carols, held at the International Conference Centre, Umuahia.

The annual event, hosted by the Executive Governor of Abia State, His Excellency, Dr Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, brought together top government officials, security service commanders, religious leaders, and residents of the state for a spiritually uplifting celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ.

This year’s Festival of Carols was held with the theme “A Christmas to Remember.”

The carol service reflected the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of Abia State, as various choirs rendered melodious hymns while selected lessons from the Holy Scriptures were read, in line with the essence of the Festival of Carols and the significance of the Christmas season.

ABIA NSCDC RECEIVES DELEGATION FROM THE FEDERAL MINISTRY OF INTERIOR

A delegation from the Federal Ministry of Interior, led by Mrs. Ifeoma Akuche, was received by Commandant Akinsola Aderemi, State Commandant of the Nigeria Security And Civil Defence Corps, Abia State Command, in connection with the 3rd and 4th Quarter Customer Satisfaction Survey.

Mrs. Akuche while addressing the State Commandant explained that the exercise is designed to assess service delivery across agencies under the Ministry, identify gaps, and enhance accountability, transparency, and public satisfaction within the Ministry’s service framework.

In his remarks, Commandant Akinsola appreciated the Ministry for the proactive engagement and assured the delegation of the Command’s full cooperation throughout the exercise.

COMMANDANT AKINSOLA HOSTS THE NEW CONTROLLER OF NIGERIAN CORRECTIONAL SERVICE, REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO STRONGER INTER-AGENCY COLLABORATION

The Abia State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant Akinsola Aderemi, received the newly posted Controller of Corrections, Abia State Command, Nwanyanwu Blessing Ifeoma, on a courtesy visit at the Command Headquarters in Umuahia.

The visit focused on familiarization, strengthening inter-agency collaboration between both agencies in areas of intelligence sharing, and the protection of lives and property of residents across Abia State.

NSCDC ABIA, PUBLIC COMPLAINTS COMMISSION STRENGTHEN PARTNERSHIP FOR JUSTICE AND SECURITY

The State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Abia State Command, Commandant Akinsola Aderemi, received the Honourable Commissioner of the Public Complaints Commission (PCC), Amb. Justice Obike, and his team during a courtesy visit to the Command Headquarters in Umuahia.

The visit created an opportunity for the Honourable Commissioner to brief the State Commandant and his management team on the Commission’s mandate, vision, and its vital role in promoting justice, equity, and accountability in governance, while also strengthening mutual understanding and exploring collaborative strategies to enhance service delivery and build public trust.

Speaking during the visit, Commandant Akinsola commended the PCC for its commitment to addressing public grievances and ensuring fair hearing for citizens. He reaffirmed the Command’s readiness to work closely with the Commission in promoting peace, justice, and security across Abia State.

NSCDC ABIA COMMAND OFFICER WINS SILVER MEDAL AT 1ST ABIA PARA BADMINTON INTERNATIONAL 2025

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Abia State Command, has once again demonstrated excellence beyond the call of duty as one of its officers, Chief Corps Assistant (CCA) Chinyere Okoro, from the Sports Unit, clinched a silver medal at the just-concluded 1st Abia Para Badminton International 2025 held in Umuahia, Abia State.

The event, which took place from 30th September to 5th October 2025, brought together talented para-athletes from various parts of the country, showcasing resilience, discipline, and sportsmanship.

CCA Okoro’s outstanding performance earned her second place in her category, bringing pride and recognition to the Command and further underscoring NSCDC’s commitment to promoting inclusivity, physical fitness, and excellence among its personnel.

Following her victory, CCA Okoro paid a courtesy visit to the State Commandant, Commandant Akinsola Aderemi, where she formally presented the silver medal to him. The Commandant congratulated her for her remarkable achievement, describing it as a testament to dedication, hard work, and the Corps’ encouragement of talent development among officers and men.

CDOWA ABIA COMMAND CHAPTER PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO SPECIAL EDUCATION SCHOOL FOR THE BLIND

The NSCDC Abia State Command chapter of Civil Defence Officers Wives Association (CDOWA) on Monday, October 6th, 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the students of the Special Education School for the Blind, Afara-Ukwu, Umuahia, Abia State.

The visit, which was led by the Chairperson of the Association, Princess Mrs. Alice Akinsola, ably represented by Mrs. Rita Nwaogu, focused on showing solidarity with the students through the presentation of food items and words of encouragement to uplift their spirits and strengthen their sense of belonging.

Speaking during the visit, Mrs. Nwaogu noted that the gesture was part of CDOWA’s ongoing commitment to promoting compassion, inclusivity, and community support, especially towards vulnerable groups in society.

The students and staff of the Special Education School for the Blind expressed their appreciation for the visit and the generous donations, describing the gesture as timely and deeply impactful.

COMMANDANT AKINSOLA ADEREMI JOINS ABIA STATE GOVERNOR TO COMMEMORATE NIGERIA’S 65TH INDEPENDENCE ANNIVERSARY

The State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Abia State Command, Commandant Akinsola Aderemi, alongside other heads of security agencies, joined the Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti OFR, to commemorate Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary, held today 01/10/2025 at the Abia State Government House.

The celebration featured a colorful parade that showcased the nation’s unity, freedom, and resilience since independence.

NSCDC, FLO 94.9 FM TO DEEPEN COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT IN THE FIGHT AGAINST INSECURITY

The State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Abia State Command, Commandant Akinsola Aderemi, received the Station Manager of FLO 94.9 FM, Mr Sampson Eze, at the Command’s Headquarters in Umuahia on a courtesy visit.

During the visit, both the NSCDC and the media powerhouse agreed on the need to partner in public awareness and sensitization to foster security consciousness among the general public.

The manager, while addressing the Officers, hinted at the need for all hands to be on deck to win the fight against insecurity in the state. He assured the commandant of his station's readiness to promote the activities of the Corps through its channel.

While responding to the visitor, Commandant Akinsola thanked the team for the visit and reiterated the commitment of NSCDC in safeguarding lives and properties, as well as the protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure across the state.
He acknowledged the role that the media plays in sensitising the general public for enhanced public safety and well-being.

ABIA NSCDC PARTNERS NATIONAL WAR MUSEUM TO SAFEGUARD NATIONAL HERITAGE

The State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Abia State Command, Commandant Akinsola Aderemi welcomed the Curator of the National War Museum, Mrs Stella Alao and her team to the Command’s Headquarters.

The courtesy visit provided an opportunity for Mrs Alao to brief the State Commandant and some of his Officers on the mission and vision of the National War Museum, as well as its role in preserving Nigeria’s military history.

The visit aimed to foster mutual understanding, and explore avenues for partnership to ensure the protection of the National heritage.

Speaking during the visit, Commandant Akinsola reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to safeguarding Critical National Assets and promoting peace and unity within the state.

In her remarks, Mrs Stella Alao commended the NSCDC for its dedication to protecting lives and property, while expressing readiness to partner with the Command in initiatives that support National security and community development.

Today, Thursday 25/09/2025, the State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Abia State Command; Akinsola Aderemi received a delegation from IHS Towers, led by the Senior Manager on Security Matters, AIG AHMED ILIYASU (RTD) at the Command’s Headquarters.

The visit aimed to strengthen the existing relationship, enhance collaboration, and explore ways to bolster the security of government telecommunication properties and combat vandalism.

ABIA NSCDC HOLDS CROSS-TOWN WALK TO MARK 2025 INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Abia State Command, under the able leadership of Commandant Akinsola Aderemi, today 23/09/2025 joined the global community in celebrating the 2025 International Day of Peace with a series of activities aimed at promoting peace and peaceful coexistence within the society.

The theme for this year’s celebration is “Act Now For A Peaceful World”.

As part of the commemoration, Commandant Akinsola organized a cross-town peace walk through the major streets of Umuahia metropolis.

ONSA/NSCDC MOVE TO FOSTER COLLABORATION IN CRITICAL ASSETS PROTECTION IN ABIA STATE.

In compliance with directives from the Office of the National Security Adviser, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Abia State Command, under the leadership of Commandant Akinsola Aderemi, hosted a state-level coordination meeting with all security agencies and key stakeholders in the State.

The coordination meeting brought together heads of security agencies to discuss comprehensive strategies for safeguarding Critical National Assets and Infrastructure, where the importance of collaboration and collective responsibility were constructively deliberated.

In a complementary effort, stakeholders from government agencies, private organisations, and community leadership were engaged in an interactive forum to discuss the protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure in the State.

These gatherings focused on key objectives, including the identification of emerging threats, ensuring best practices in asset protection, and fostering stakeholders' collaboration for a coordinated approach to asset protection in the state.
