The Executive Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Council, Olorogun Barr. Jaro Movudu Egbo, KSC, today Monday officially swore in the newly elected executives of Owevwe Community, led by the newly elected President, Comrade Newword Ehre, at his office in Ughelli.

Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony, Barr. Egbo warmly welcomed the new executives and congratulated them on their successful emergence through a peaceful and credible electoral process.

He commended the people of Owevwe Community for their exemplary conduct before, during, and after the election, describing it as one of the most peaceful and best community elections conducted since he assumed office as Executive Chairman.

According to him, the peaceful atmosphere that characterized the election reflects the maturity, unity, and commitment of the community towards sustainable development and progress.

Barr. Jaro Egbo urged the newly inaugurated executives to see their election as a call to service and an opportunity to leave lasting legacies that would positively impact the lives of the people. He advised them to embark on meaningful projects and initiatives that would bring development to the community and create opportunities for future generations.

"The positions you occupy today are positions of trust. I encourage you to work selflessly, promote peace, unity, and development, and undertake projects that will make the people remember your administration long after your tenure has ended.

Let your leadership open doors for your children and generations yet unborn, and ensure that at the end of your tenure, you can proudly give a good account of your stewardship," he stated.

Responding on behalf of the newly elected executives, the President of Owevwe Community, Comrade Newword Ehre, expressed profound gratitude to the Executive Chairman for ensuring a free, fair, and peaceful election process that has strengthened unity and stability within the community.

He also appreciated his opponents, community elders, stakeholders, youths, women, and all residents of Owevwe Community for their support, cooperation, and contributions towards the successful conduct of the election.
Comrade Ehre pledged that the new executive would work diligently to justify the confidence reposed in them by the people and remain committed to the development, peace, and progress of Owevwe Community.

The highlight of the event was the official administration of the oath of office and swearing-in of the newly elected executives by the Executive Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Council, Olorogun Barr. Jaro Movudu Egbo, KSC.

​The Executive Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Council, Olorogun (Barr.) Jaro Movudu Egbo, KSC, has officially commended Major Babayemi Olaniyi Usman for his exceptional competence, unrelenting hard work, and steadfast loyalty to public service.

​Barr. Jaro Egbo gave the commendation during a formal sent-forth ceremony organized in honour of the departing military officer. Speaking at the event, the Council Chairman emphasized the significant impact of Major Usman’s dedication to duty, which has contributed immensely to the peace, security, and stability of both the local government area and Delta State at large.

​He noted that Major Usman's disciplined approach and commitment to service have earned him a distinct place in the administration's history, making him only the second officer to receive such an official accolade of recognition from the Ughelli North Local Government Council under his leadership.

​"We are presenting you with this award of recognition to reiterate our administration's core policy of acknowledging and rewarding excellence in public service," the Council Chairman stated.

Jaro Egbo welcomes Ughelli North Residents on the Arrival of June 2026, Prays for Peace and Prosperity
The Executive Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Council, Olorogun Barr. Jaro Movudu Egbo, KSC, has extended warm felicitations to the people of Ughelli North as they welcome the month of June 2026.

In a goodwill message released through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Efe Ekete, the Chairman expressed profound gratitude to God Almighty for His grace, mercy, and protection, which have enabled residents to witness the beginning of another month.

According to Barr Jaro Egbo, the commencement of a new month presents an opportunity for renewed hope, greater accomplishments, and fresh possibilities for individuals, families, communities, and the entire local government area.

Barr. Egbo prayed for God's continuous guidance, protection, and abundant blessings upon the people of Ughelli North, emphasising the need for peace, unity, and collective progress.

JARO EGBO, JOINS DIGNITARIES TO CELEBRATE LUKE UMUKORO’S 25TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

The Executive Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Council, Olorogun (Barr.) Jaro Movudu Egbo, KSC, joined eminent political leaders, government officials, traditional chiefs, community leaders, clergy, business leaders, and other distinguished guests at the celebration of the 25th Wedding Anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Luke Umukoro.

The colourful and well attended event took place at the Wetland Hotel, Ughelli, where family members, friends, associates, and well-wishers gathered to celebrate the couple's remarkable journey of love, commitment, and marital success spanning twenty five years.

Speaking during the ceremony, Barr. Jaro Egbo congratulated Mr. and Mrs. Umukoro on reaching such a significant milestone in their marriage. He described the achievement as a testament to unwavering love, patience, understanding, and dedication, noting that sustaining a marriage for twenty five years is no small feat in today's society.

The Executive Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Council, Olorogun Barr. Jaro Movudu Egbo, KSC, today Saturday, May 30, 2026, attended the Church Building Dedication Ceremony of Hope Alive Liberation Church International, Effurun, in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.

The colourful and spirit filled event attracted a distinguished gathering of political leaders, government officials, traditional rulers, clergy, business leaders, and other notable personalities from across Delta State and beyond.

Among the dignitaries in attendance were the Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Olorogun Barr. Arthur Akpowowo, Commissioners, Local Government Chairmen, top government functionaries, aides of the Ughelli North Council Chairman, traditional rulers, traditional chiefs, clergymen, captains of industry, and respected members of the public.

The dedication service was marked by heartfelt worship, prayers, thanksgiving, and messages centered on faith, unity, and community development.

Addressing the press during the event, Olorogun Barr. Jaro Egbo congratulated the leadership and members of Hope Alive Liberation Church International on the successful completion and dedication of the church edifice. He commended the church for its spiritual contributions to society and its role in promoting peace, moral values, and community development.

Jaro Egbo Oversees Successful Owevwe Community Election Comr Newword Ahwre Elected New President.

The Executive Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Council, Olorogun Barr. Jaro Movudu Egbo, KSC, on Saturday, May 30, 2026, supervised the election for the position of President-General (PG) of Ovwewhe Community in a peaceful and transparent exercise. The peaceful election took place at the Ughelli north LGA Council Hall.

At the end of the election, Comr. Newword Ahwre emerged victorious after polling 22 votes to defeat his opponent, Mr. Amos Avwerhonyo, who secured 14 votes.

The election, which was conducted by the officials of the State Ministry of Women Affairs, Social and Community Development under the supervision of the Ughelli north council boss, Barr Jaro Egbo, electoral committee and witnessed by community stakeholders, was widely commended for its fairness, transparency, and peaceful atmosphere.

In his acceptance speech, the newly elected President General, Comr. Newword Ahwre, expressed profound gratitude to the Executive Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Council, Olorogun Barr Jaro Egbo ksc, the electoral committee, community leaders, and all eligible voters for ensuring a credible and peaceful election process.

He also extended a hand of fellowship to his opponent and supporters, calling for unity, cooperation, and collective commitment toward the growth and development of Ovwewhe Community.

According to him, the election is over, and it is now time for all sons and daughters of the community to work together in advancing the peace, progress, and welfare of the people.

JARO EGBO CONDUCTED A MAJOR ENVIRONMENTAL SANITATION EXERCISE ACROSS THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA

In a renewed commitment to environmental cleanliness and public health, the Executive Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Council, Olorogun Barr. Jaro Movudu Egbo, KSC, led a major environmental sanitation exercise across various parts of the local government area today, Saturday, 30th May 2026.

The exercise witnessed the active participation of top local government officials, Environmental Health Officers, community leaders, and members of various voluntary organisations.

The initiative aimed to promote a cleaner and healthier environment for residents of Ughelli North.

Areas covered during the sanitation exercise included major markets, the East-West Express Road, streets, and other strategic public locations within the local government area. Participants engaged in sweeping, clearing refuse, desilting drainage systems, and removing environmental nuisances capable of posing health risks to the public.

Addressing newsmen during the exercise, Olorogun Barr. Jaro Egbo, expressed concern over the indiscriminate trading activities taking place on drainage channels, especially as the rainy season approaches.

According to the Chairman, many traders continue to display their goods on top of drainage systems, thereby causing blockages that hinder the free flow of water and increase the risk of flooding in the town.

He stated that the council is determined to clear all blocked drainage channels to facilitate the free flow of water, prevent flooding, and maintain a healthy environment throughout Ughelli North. He further disclosed that the council has scheduled a special sanitation exercise in the market on Thursdays to address sanitation challenges and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.

The Chairman also revealed that sanitation teams are currently working in other flood-prone areas across the town as part of ongoing efforts to safeguard lives and property during the rainy season.

Barr. Jaro Egbo emphasised that environmental cleanliness remains a collective responsibility and called on residents, traders and business owners to support the council's efforts by maintaining proper sanitation practices and disposing of waste responsibly.

He reiterated his administration's commitment to promoting a cleaner, healthier, and more attractive Ughelli North, assuring residents that regular sanitation exercises and environmental monitoring would continue to ensure a safe and sustainable environment for all.

JARO EGBO MOURNS WITH THE ODEGHE FAMILY, DESCRIBES LATE DAME HELEN AS A WOMAN OF EXCEPTIONAL VIRTUE.

The Executive Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Council, Olorogun Barr. Jaro Movudu Egbo, KSC, joined family members, friends, associates, and sympathisers at the burial ceremony of the late Dame Helen Esivboroghenedoro Odeghe, held at Oharisi Primary School Field in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.

The solemn event drew a large gathering of political leaders, government officials, traditional chiefs, clergy, community leaders, top aides to the Executive Chairman, and dignitaries from within and outside Delta State, all of whom came to pay their final respects to the departed matriarch.

Speaking during the ceremony, Barr. Jaro Egbo expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Dame Helen, describing her as a virtuous mother, a woman of humility, compassion, and unwavering dedication to God, family, and humanity.

According to the Chairman, the late Dame Helen lived a fulfilled and impactful life worthy of celebration and emulation.

“Death is inevitable and a debt every mortal must pay. However, we take solace in the fact that Mama lived a fulfilled and exemplary life. God gives and God takes. My prayer is that Almighty God grants the family the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss and grant Mama’s soul eternal rest,” Barr. Egbo stated.

He further noted that the deceased left behind enduring legacies of love, discipline, service, and moral excellence that would continue to inspire generations to come.

Barr. Egbo was accompanied to the funeral ceremony by top aides and principal officers of the Ughelli North Local Government Council.

As the remains of the revered matriarch were laid to rest, prayers were offered for the peaceful repose of her soul and for divine comfort upon the entire Odeghe family.

May the soul of Dame Helen Esivboroghenedoro Odeghe continue to rest in perfect peace.

Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State, and other political and community leaders today at a thanksgiving service in Asaba to mark the Governor’s third year in office.

The spiritually charged ceremony marked by praise, worship, and thanksgiving was organized to acknowledge God’s faithfulness, guidance, and blessings on Governor Oborevwori, his family, and his administration since inauguration.

The atmosphere at the venue was joyful and uplifting as worshippers lifted songs of gratitude for peace, progress, and the developmental achievements recorded across the state.

The event drew a wide cross-section of dignitaries, including members of the Delta State House of Assembly, commissioners, local government chairmen, traditional rulers, clergy, party leaders, and other prominent stakeholders

Barr. Jaro Egbo commended Governor Oborevwori for his dedication to good governance and infrastructure-driven development.

Third Anniversary: Ughelli North Chairman, Jaro Egbo, Congratulates President Tinubu, Governor Oborevwori

The Executive Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Council, Olorogun Barr. Jaro Movudu Egbo, KSC, has extended his warmest congratulations to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and the Executive Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff F.O Oborevwori, on the anniversary of their inauguration into office.

​In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary. Efe Ekete, the Council Chairman commended both leaders for their unwavering commitment to strengthening democracy, promoting national unity, and driving sustainable economic growth since assuming office on May 29th, 2023.

​According to Barr. Jaro Egbo, the leadership qualities demonstrated by both the President and the Governor have continued to inspire hope, stability, and confidence among Nigerians through policies aimed at improving the lives of ordinary citizens.

​"The Government and people of Ughelli North Local Government Council remain fully supportive of all progressive policies that promote peace, unity, and economic prosperity for Delta State and Nigeria as a whole," the statement read.

​The Chairman particularly lauded Mr President on his Renewed Hope Agenda that has led to alot of infrastructural development across the Federation and Governor Oborevwori for his dedication to the M.O.R.E.
