Aminu Kabiru (FLMI) Executive Director/Team Lead of LEAD, Secretary General UICF & SUSI Alumnus, partnered with Freedom for Life Initiative (FFLI) and Ummaty International Charity Foundation (UICF) to organize an event themed "Identifying and Proposing Solutions to Community Challenges in the 21st Century". The event was held at the American Space in Sokoto on June, 30th, 2024. The event brought together various stakeholders, youth leaders, and community representatives to discuss and address pressing issues facing communities in the 21st century. The event commenced with opening prayers led by Ridwanu Usman. Fantastic welcome address was made by Atiku Abubakar, an IVLP 2020 participant who contributed immensely towards the effective delivery of the program who at the same time served as the MC of the program.The event fostered an engaging dialogue on the identification of community challenges in the 21st century, focusing on bridging gaps and provides effective solutions through advocacy. Aminu Kabiru (FLMI) addressed the community challenges in the 21st century and steps to followed in identifying community challenges. On the other hand, Hassan Muhammad Ladan, HR and Admin Officer of Freedom for Life Initiative (FFLI), who presented on Advocacy; emphasized practical and actionable approaches to addressing community challenges. Dr. Muhammad Abdullahi Gulam from the Department of Islamic Studies, Shehu Shagari University of Education (SSCOE), provided a goodwill message and youth motivation. Several speakers offered motivation to the attendees which includes Yusuf Muhd Ladan, Former Coordinator of Yali Network Sokoto, Mal. Idris Abdulkarim - National Chairman of New Green Empowerment Initiative (NGEI), M.K Bodinga, Proprietor of Life Time Integrated Academy, Bodinga and Abdulrazak Musa Yabo (Youth Activist). The event saw participation from various stakeholders, including: Nura Usman - Director Budget and Planning, Sokoto State House of Assembly (SOHA), Aminu Wadata, Lecturer at Umaru Ali Shinkafi Polytechnic, Sokoto Aliyu Abdussamad (KL-YES Alumnus), Comrade Bello Sambo - Helping Hands and Grassroot Support Foundation, Hadiza Haruna - Productive Youth Development Initiative (PYDI), and representatives from Minannata Youth Development Organization (MYDO).This program brought together a diverse group of individuals from various sectors, including academia, youth organizations, government, and non-governmental organizations including students of Full Time Integrated Academy, Bodinga. The mix of participants suggests a holistic approach to addressing community challenges, incorporating different perspectives and expertise. The event's focus on identifying challenges specific to the 21st century indicates an awareness of the evolving nature of community issues and the need for contemporary solutions. By emphasizing practical and actionable approaches, the organizers aimed to move beyond theoretical discussions to promote real-world impact. The inclusion of youth motivation sessions and the participation of youth-focused organizations highlight the importance placed on engaging and empowering younger generations in community problem-solving.The "Identifying and Proposing Solutions to Community Challenges in the 21st Century" program appears to have been a well-structured event that brought together key stakeholders to address pressing community issues. By combining presentations, advocacy, motivation, and stakeholder participation, the organizers created a platform for meaningful dialogue and potential action planning. The involvement of various organizations and individuals from different sectors suggests a collaborative approach to community development, which is crucial for implementing effective and sustainable solutions.Questions and answers were treated during panelist session. All the participants that attended the programme, were happy and donβt even need the program to come to an end. They were highly motivated.
