I presided over the statutory meeting of the Remo Traditional Council, a gathering dedicated to thoughtful deliberations on matters affecting the well-being, progress, and future of Remoland.

The meeting provided an important platform for extensive discussions on issues of collective interest, governance, development, security, cultural preservation, and the continued advancement of our people. As custodians of our heritage and guardians of our communities, we remain committed to fostering unity, strengthening collaboration, and making informed decisions that will positively impact present and future generations.

I received the leadership of HBM Nig. Plc, including the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Plant Manager, and Chief Security Officer for a strategic engagement on matters concerning the continued growth and development of our people and communities.

During the meeting, the executives presented reports on employment opportunities, skills acquisition programmes, waste-to-energy initiatives, local content participation, security, and the engagement of competent local workers within their operations. The discussions reflected the company’s commitment to sustainable development and responsible corporate citizenship.

In my remarks, I reiterated the importance of ensuring that industrial growth translates into tangible benefits for our people through meaningful employment, capacity development, and increased participation of local talent in economic activities within our communities. I also spoke on the need for the continuous development of our areas through purposeful collaboration, mutual understanding, solidarity, and informed decision-making.

I appreciated their visit and the company’s willingness to engage constructively with its host communities. I offered prayers for wisdom, success, and divine guidance for the leadership of HBM Nig. PLCs as they continue to contribute to economic growth and national development.

I was delighted to join distinguished traditional rulers, community leaders, professionals, business executives, family members, and friends at a special reception organised by the Remo Growth and Development Foundation (RemoGDF) in honour of its 1st Vice Chairman, Prince Wole Sowole, on the occasion of his 65th birthday.

As Prince Wole Sowole marks this significant milestone, I pray that Almighty God grants him continued good health, wisdom, strength, and abundant grace. On this blessed occasion of Eid al-Adha, we are reminded that true greatness is not measured by status or possessions, but by faith, sacrifice, humility, and an unwavering devotion to humanity.
