Hon. Ogorugba Commissions Mayor Rural Development Foundation Skill Acquisition Centre in Emevor.

Emevor: The Executive Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Council Area, Delta State, Hon. (Elder) Prince Godwin Ogorugba, on Friday 8th May 2026, officially commissioned the Mayor Rural Development Foundation Skill Acquisition Centre in Emevor, Isoko North LGA

Speaking at the ceremony, Hon. Ogorugba emphasized the importance of skill acquisition and vocational training in empowering youths and driving sustainable development in rural communities.

He expressed pride in the collaborative efforts that made the centre a reality, noting that it will equip the local population with practical skills to improve employability and create entrepreneurial opportunities. The Chairman reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting initiatives that expand economic opportunities at the grassroots in Consolidating the MORE Agenda of His Excellency Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State.

Chief Emmanuel Erezih, President-General of Emevor Community and Executive Assistant to the Governor on Beautification, also highlighted the critical role of the centre in reducing youth unemployment and curbing rural-urban migration. He commended the founder of the foundation, Mr. Matthew Anigbere for bringing the project to fruition and called on youths in the area to take full advantage of the training programs.

The event was attended by community leaders, All Progressives Congress (APC) Chieftains, women group and beneficiaries of the centre’s training programs.

‎The Executive Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Council, Hon. (Elder) Prince Godwin Ogorugba, has extended a warm felicitation to Chief Emman Amgbaduba, All Progressive All Progressives Congress (APC), Delta South Chairman on the occasion of his birthday anniversary.

‎Hon. Ogorugba described the Delta South Chairman of the APC as a quintessential political leader who has demonstrated steadfastness, loyalty and love for the party in Delta State, saying that his Chairmanship of the APC in the Delta South has been of tremendous value not only to the Party, but to the State at large.

‎While celebrating Chief Emman Amgbaduba for his diplomatic prowess and experience in the party's affairs, the Isoko North Council Chairman, Hon. Ogorugba applauded him for his devotion and incomparable support to the Renewed Hope for MORE Agenda of His Excellency Rt. After 34 years of serving passengers, Spirit Airlines has officially ceased all operations as of 3:00 AM Eastern Time on May 2, 2026. Every flight has been cancelled, leaving 17,000 employees without jobs and thousands of passengers stranded. The airline’s CEO, Dave Davis, confirmed the closure, explaining that Spirit had hoped to restructure after its second bankruptcy, but rising jet fuel prices and a failed $500 million federal loan deal led to the company’s collapse.
The closure marks the first significant U.S. airline shutdown in nearly 25 years. Spirit’s failure to secure necessary liquidity and support left them unable to continue operations. Passengers are advised to seek reimbursement through credit card chargebacks or travel insurance, as Spirit will not rebook flights or refund tickets. American and United Airlines are stepping in to assist affected customers. The closure hits hardest in Fort Lauderdale, where Spirit held a dominant market share.
