10 REASONS EHIME MBANO SHOULD SEND RT. HON. LAWMAN DURUJI.
1. DEEP LEGISLATIVE EXPERIENCE
Lawman Duruji is not a learner. He has served in the Imo State House of Assembly across two terms. He understands the entire lawmaking process — how a bill is conceptualized, drafted, debated on the floor, passed through committees, and assented to. This kind of institutional knowledge takes years to build. With him, Ehime Mbano will not waste time on orientation. He can hit the ground running from day one and immediately begin sponsoring bills and amendments that directly benefit our people.
2. PROVEN LEADERSHIP AT THE TOP
In May 2019, during a constitutional crisis, his colleagues across party lines elected him Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly — making him the 3rd citizen of Imo State. That vote of 14-11 was not about party. It was about trust, competence, and calm under pressure. If 27 lawmakers could trust him to preside over the entire House at its most difficult moment, then Ehime Mbano can trust him to preside over our interests.
3. STRONG VOICE IN GOVERNANCE
As Deputy Majority Leader, he sat at the leadership table where decisions are made. He used that position to consistently raise issues affecting Ehime Mbano — from bad roads and dilapidated schools to health centers and youth unemployment. He is not a benchwarmer. He speaks up, even when it is uncomfortable, because leadership is about representation, not silence.
4. TRACK RECORD ON KEY ISSUES
His focus has always been on what touches ordinary people. He has pushed for Roads to open our communities, Schools to secure our children’s future, Health facilities to save lives, Youth Empowerment to create jobs, and Security to protect our markets and homes. He knows the pain points because he lives among us. He doesn’t need a tour to understand Ehime Mbano.
5. TESTED RESILIENCE
Politics in Nigeria is not for the weak. Lawman has faced court battles, political persecution, and in 2022, a 5-day kidnapping in Oriagu. Many would have quit. He came back and said “Let this affliction pass us by.” That resilience proves one thing: he is not in this for titles. He is in this for service. A man who can go through fire and still return to his people is a man you can trust with your mandate.
6. GRASSROOTS CONNECTION
From Umueze to Agbaja, Akanuezeala to Nsu, he knows us by name, by clan, and by need. He attends burials, town hall meetings, church programs, and market days — not just during elections. He is a son of the soil. He understands that development must start from the village level, not from Owerri press releases.
7. ACCESS AND RELATIONSHIPS IN THE HOUSE
Development is about who you know and how you lobby. Having served as Speaker and ranking member, Lawman has built strong relationships across the Executive, the Assembly, and MDAs. Those relationships matter when it’s time to attract budget provisions, federal projects, and intervention programs to Ehime Mbano. Returning him means we leverage existing goodwill instead of starting new negotiations.
