ADC GAINS MOMENTUM IN SOUTHEAST AS SEMN UNVEILS NATIONAL EXECUTIVES, TARGETS 5 MILLION VOTES

‎-Okoroma commends initiative, urges intensified grassroots mobilization

‎ENUGU- The Southeast ADC Mobilization Network (SEMN) has formally unveiled its National Executives, pledging to deliver five million votes for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the Southeast geopolitical zone ahead of the 2027 general elections.

‎The unveiling ceremony, held at the Amadeo Hotel Event Center in Enugu State, drew party stakeholders and national officers from Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo States, signaling what organizers described as a renewed grassroots political awakening within the region.

‎The event, themed “Uniting the Southeast ADC for Greater Grassroots Mobilization and Electoral Victories, 2027,” featured the Imo State Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Prof. James Okoroma, as keynote speaker.

‎SEMN Leadership Speaks

‎In his remarks, the Director-General of Southeast ADC Mobilization Network (SEMN), Comr. (Dr.) Bryan Diamond Agu, expressed appreciation to the national leadership of the party led by Senator David Mark for what he described as purposeful leadership guiding the party toward national relevance.

‎“Today is a great day in the history of ADC in the Southeast. This is not like any other day, but because of the mileage reached by the members and leadership of SEMN, the only registered Support Group recognized at the National Headquarters, Abuja; and is being unveiled today by Sir. Bon. Unachukwu National Vice-Chairman Southeast, ably represented by Prof. James Okoroma, the only Prof. as a State Chairman in the 36 States of the Federation and FCT, Abuja,” Agu stated.
‎Agu explained that SEMN was established to deepen grassroots mobilization and strengthen party structures across the region.

‎“The Southeast ADC Mobilization Network (SEMN) is a movement born out of the sheer and urgent need to mobilize for the party within the region. We are very formidable and have leadership down to the LGA, and after today, we are heading to the polling units. This is because every electoral result, according to the Electoral Act of 2026, must be declared at the polling units, and to add to the aphorism, ‘All politics is local’. We are going to localize our mobilization down to the booths for electoral victories come 2027.”
‎The DG added that Nigerians were yearning for people-oriented leadership and expressed confidence that ADC would provide such governance.

‎“Nigerians are waiting for true leadership that cares for the people. This will be possible under the ADC-led government come 2027, and SEMN, as a grassroots-based movement, is going to give ADC 5 million votes in the presidential election,” he said, noting that membership data computation and voter registration efforts had already commenced across the zone.

‎Okoroma Highlights Role of Support Groups

‎Delivering the keynote address, Prof. James Okoroma emphasized the importance of support groups in democratic participation and electoral success.
‎“Support groups are essential in a constitutional democracy and for political participation. It is a rich organization to reach the unreachable, and to this end, I want to commend the Director-General, Dr. Bryan Diamond Agu, and his team,” he said.

‎He further described the ADC as a party built on strong values and credible leadership.
‎“The African Democratic Congress ADC is a party with great values and a rich history. Beginning from the leaders of the various coalition partners, they are eminent Nigerian and global citizens who have come together to rescue the country from imminent collapse. This ambition, no matter how lofty it may appear, cannot succeed without support groups,” Okoroma reiterated.

‎Addressing regional concerns, Okoroma urged greater political participation among Southeast voters.
‎“The people of the Southeast have faced marginalization, and the ADC presents a possible route to end the narrative. We cannot do it without telling our brothers and sisters to register and join the ADC, get their Permanent Voters Card (PVC) for those that do not have one, and come out on election day to vote for ADC candidates in all elections, that is the way to go.”

‎He concluded with a broader national appeal:
‎“The war ended militarily, but Nigeria must end it democratically by allowing an Igbo man to be the president of Nigeria.”
‎Women Leaders Advocate Inclusion and Mobilization

‎In their separate remarks, the Southeast ADC Zonal Woman Leader, Barr. (Mrs.) Joy Chioma Anyanwu, and the Enugu State Chairman of the party, Comr. (Mrs.) Stella Chukwuma, commended SEMN leadership for initiating what they described as a strategic mobilization platform.
‎Anyanwu stated:
‎“The ADC is a party that is gender friendly. Giving opportunities to women and youths and having great leaders of respect. It is our duty to make the best of this opportunity, because we have a sellable aspirant to market to Nigeria for the position of President, in the person of Mr. Peter Obi.”

‎She further urged expanded voter awareness campaigns targeting young voters.
‎“While we are registering people, let us not forget to do the same for the Secondary students who are up to the age of voting. As a matter of necessity, we must extend this awareness to the schools, and churches. We need as many people to register as possible, looking at the figures chunning out from the North, especially Adamawa State, we must, in the words of the keynote Speaker, Prof. James Okoroma, redouble our efforts in mobilizing for the party.”
