OFFICIAL UPDATE:
The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has clarified that its Presidential, National Assembly, Governorship, and State Assembly primaries will now fully hold nationwide on May 29, 2026.

According to the party leadership, May 28 will be used for: ✅ Arrivals ✅ Documentation with INEC and security agencies ✅ Consultative meetings ✅ Stakeholder engagements ✅ Final preparations

The adjustment became necessary due to Eid-el-Kabir public holidays, transportation difficulties, and flight disruptions affecting aspirants and screening officials.

The party also warned that: ❌ No unauthorized meetings or activities should be conducted outside approved guidelines. ❌ No state executive or team has the authority to announce results independently.

NDC further emphasized zero tolerance for: 🚫 Violence 🚫 Disorderly conduct 🚫 Hooliganism

As supporters and members, let us remain peaceful, disciplined, and focused on the bigger mission ahead of 2027.

Last night, I attended a dinner meeting for Governorship and National Assembly aspirants of the NDC. In attendance was His Excellency Peter Obi, CON, while His Excellency Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso was unavoidably absent as he is currently in Kano State attending to important party matters ahead of the primaries.

In my remarks, I thanked all the aspirants for believing in the vision, ideals, and future of the NDC. I noted that when the party was founded, many people did not give us any chance, but by the grace of God, within a few months, the NDC has emerged as the fastest-growing political party and the most cohesive opposition platform in the country.

I also appreciated the sacrifices and commitment of party officials and members who have continued to work tirelessly for the growth of the party since its inception. In particular, I commended the Screening Committee led by His Excellency Senator Sam Egwu, former Governor, Minister, and Senator, alongside other respected and experienced members of the committee, for their hard work and dedication in carrying out the screening exercise for aspirants over the past week.

I thanked all aspirants for investing their confidence in me and in the party, as well as for the donations and support they have continued to make towards the growth and development of the NDC. I reiterated that the NDC is an innovative and forward-looking political party committed to building strong democratic institutions and internal processes.

I explained that the inauguration of the Selection Committee, chaired by the National Chairman alongside other party leaders, is part of the party’s effort to institutionalize credibility, consultation, and strategic planning within the nomination process. I told them that the committee would review reports from the Screening Committee, consult widely with stakeholders across constituencies and states, and make recommendations that take into account competence, local dynamics, and the overall interests of the party.

I further noted that, because of the shortness of time ahead of the elections, the party strongly encourages consensus arrangements among aspirants wherever possible in order to minimize rancour and strengthen unity within the party. However, where consensus cannot be achieved, the party will proceed with democratic primaries in line with its constitution and guidelines.

I reminded aspirants that only one candidate can eventually emerge for each office, but assured them that the party would not forget any individual who has made sacrifices and invested in the movement. I stated that the NDC is being built as an ideological and enduring political institution, comparable to successful long-standing political movements around the world, and not as a temporary platform for opportunistic and transactional politics.

I also disclosed that the party is compiling a comprehensive database of all aspirants and supporters who have contributed to the growth of the NDC. That they will continue to play active roles in the affairs of the party, beginning with the presidential campaign structure and other strategic committees that will soon be constituted.

I assured the aspirants that this would be the last primary election conducted through the largely manual process currently in use due to time constraints. I explained that the party is already working towards introducing modern electronic systems for future primary elections in order to improve transparency, efficiency, and credibility.

Lastly, I thanked all the aspirants for their sacrifices, particularly for travelling from different parts of the federation despite the prevailing insecurity and harsh economic conditions in the country. I assured them that all donations and support received by the party would be prudently and transparently utilized for the advancement of the NDC and its vision for Nigeria. I also informed them that the party’s communication platform, which will soon be launched, will ensure regular engagement and updates for aspirants, supporters, and stakeholders.

Once again, I thank all the aspirants for honouring the invitation and wished them safe journeys back to their various destinations.

Kano-based lawyer Abba Hikima, a justice advocate, has torn into viral claims that Peter Obi harbors hatred for Northerners and Muslims, calling the allegations “neither fair nor true” in a 9:45 unfiltered video now circulating online.

Hikima said investigations show it was Imo’s Hope Uzodinma, not Obi, who introduced the controversial “Register or Leave” and “Know Your Tenant” policy targeting Northerners. He added that late Ondo Governor Akeredolu also issued a similar herders’ registration ultimatum. Both were withdrawn after northern backlash. “There is no record in the country showing Peter Obi showed hatred toward Northerners,” Hikima insisted.

On religion, Hikima debunked claims Obi demolished mosques to spite Muslims. He said the Central Onitsha Mosque was partly affected by general town remodeling, and Obi “personally provided funds” to rebuild it at a new site. Barrister Mahmud, an Anambra indigene, publicly thanked Obi on social media, he noted.

Hikima further revealed Obi funded a mosque in Awka “from his personal pocket” and, unlike northern governors who sponsor Hajj only for Muslims, “Peter Obi sponsored 44 Muslims for Hajj in 2007.” He challenged: “Have you ever seen Kano, Zamfara or Sokoto sponsor Christians to Jerusalem? They are not sponsored.”

The lawyer highlighted Obi’s lifestyle as proof of integrity: his ADC is a Muslim from Kano, he slashed his convoy from 20+ to 5 cars, publicly declared assets, rejected gubernatorial pension, and turned down a land gift. “Is that how leaders behave? This is integrity,” Hikima said.

He credited Obi with buying 30,000 computers for Anambra schools, boosting Innoson Vehicles, and growing his banking career from scratch. “His life is cleaner than theirs,” Hikima argued, comparing Obi to rivals in other parties.

Addressing ethnicity, Hikima called it “the greatest injustice” to disqualify Obi for being Igbo. “Igbos are one of three major ethnic groups. If a Hausa man rules, why say no to an Igbo man? Where is it written? Goodluck Jonathan is a total minority and he ruled very well.”

Hikima closed by urging Nigerians to verify claims online, saying “justice is the remedy for all things.” He argued voters have outgrown religious voting, adding: “If a Christian shows trustworthiness — which are Muslim traits — and a Muslim lacks competence, I won’t drop the Christian just because he is not a Muslim.”

NDC Unveils Screening Committees For House of Assembly Aspirants

As The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) begins the screening of aspirants for the various states Houses of Assembly today, the party’s leadership has announced the constitution of screening committees to oversee the process in the all the 36 states of the Federation.

In a memo jointly signed by the party’s National Chairman, Sen. Moses Cleopas Zuwoghe and National Secretary, Ikenna Morgan Enekweizu Esq., the NDC spelt out the guidelines for the screening exercise, which is to run from Saturday, May 23, 2026, through Monday May 25, 2026.

According to the communication, aspirants will be evaluated for character, capability and capacity to win election, among other criteria. NDC said that for any aspirant to be deemed worthy of purchasing the party’s nomination form, he or she must be a financially up to date member of the party, and must show evidence of contribution to the growth of the party.

Such aspirant, the memo said, apart from meeting the constitutional requirement for the office being sought, must also not have a criminal record or be under investigation or trial by any anti-graft agency.

The party also warned that any aspirant who is accompanied by thugs and miscreants to the venue of the screening stands the risk of being disqualified.
The screening committees are made up of three members each for every state, comprised of a Chairman, a Secretary and one Member.

The approved list of membership of the committees is as follows (attached):

"Amaechi stood his ground, it is Direct Primaries or Nothing: Rolls out 50 SANs to Break Atiku's Consensus Cabal – The Battle for ADC's Soul Just Got Real."

Rotimi Amaechi have lined up 50 SANs just incase ADC choses to endorse Atiku over him because he knows he's more qualified than the former VP.

On this note both ADC and it's owner, Atiku Abubakar have played themselves into a big quagmire with Rotimi Amaechi who is insisting on direct primaries if consensus is not reached.

Rotimi Amaechi had made it clear to them by declaring that "God will punish anyone who came to plead with him to be Atiku's running mate"

Rotimi and his team have ruled out anything that has to be consensus except it would produce him as the consensus candidate.

Also, Atiku doesn't seem like a man who will back down for Amaechi to be crown the consensus candidate in his party ADC.

So, it's looking like there is fire on the mountain in ADC already and it's a very big big fire that I'm very happy to observe it's development .

It's my hope that Rotimi Amaechi maintains his ground. Then let Atiku and his cohorts be unmasked totally for engineering a heist on Nigerians as ADC coalition party to lure and cage every other Presidential Aspirants in ADC and produce Atiku Abubakar as the solo opposition Presidential candidate via consensus.

Note : Atiku prefer a consensus mainly because it gives him an advantage, hence he will settle few big men in the party with cash and promises to concede some ministries, department and agencies when elected.

Amaechi is pushing for direct primaries because it will take away the big men advantage Atiku has..and Atiku is not popular amongst the ordinary people and external hands from the ruling party may influence the outcome to Amaechi advantage.

So on this note Atiku Abubakar have Been having high BP because he never anticipated Rotimi would be a pain in his ass. He underated him by thinking he would be doing him a big favor by giving him the VP slot. He never knew Rotimi sees him as an expired politician who shouldn't have any business with politics.

Atiku's cabal are considering disqualifying Amaechi via screening result.

This is why Rotimi is been proactive upon hearing the rumour by rolling out 50 SANs that would drag the ADC into pieces and that could led to the outright disqualification of all ADC's aspirants from top to bottom including Atiku Abubakar at the ballot.

Atiku and his attack dogs are in a state of disarray. They are accusing Peter Obi of been the weapon who fashioned Rotimi Amaechi against Atiku's birthright "born to rule" ambition
