EXPERIENCE OF TRAUMATIC EVENTS (VOLUME 1)
The car swerved off the road and beelined into the pedestrian zone as if possessed, diving into a roadside seller's table causing it to somersault in the air twice as thick fumes permeated the air momentarily barricading the free flow of air and sight. But I saw it, the camry crashing down and a piece of its broken glass window pierced the air in slow motion impaling a kid adorned in the same biege colored uniform, sparkling socks and a perfectly rose styled bandana fixed in her lush cornrowed hair.
FLASHBACK
Death is like a phantom, invincible, always stuck to us like white on rice. The morning was trailing slower than an injured snail not until Miss Janet of class 5 sent for me alongside a pupil that has been the cause of my sleepless nights from the early stages of my ephemeral childhood. Elizabeth was my classmate back then whom I did not pay much attention to because of my social ineptitude, especially in a class that was ruled by stereotype, she was tall, plump with a face shaped oval. Her school uniform glistened in the early morning sun as she made a beeline for Miss Janet's office. I distanced myself from her, Elizabeth who was every bit the definition of a sunshine wouldn't want me to dim her shine.Miss Janet a loveable petite woman cashed my hands, a beauteous smile in place with a request to aid her make some purchases across the gigantic school building. I didn't see it coming neither did Elizabeth who then had symptoms of ADHD as she was a very playful and hyper kid. I stood on the pedestrian zone as we made out way to store looking on both sides of the major road for any incoming vehicle. A minute into my inspection, Eliz without precaution was already crossing the road when the unstable Camry which might have lost it brakes, fumed the air and somersaulted.
PRESENT
The last thing I saw before the fumes subdued my conscious was a piece of its broken glass impaling Eliz.
