*REPORT ON THE COURTESY/FAMILIARIZATION VISIT TO THE DEPUTY RECTOR ACADEMICS.*

It was on *Thursday, 24th of March, 2022* that the *Students' Union Government* ably led by *H.E. Comr. AHANEKU VALENTINE N.* embarked on a courtesy/familiarization visit to the office of the *Deputy Rector Academics (Mr. CHRIS C. ONYEMENONU).* The visit was part of the planned routine courtesy visit by the Union to principal officers of the Academic Board, Heads of Divisions/Units and other Directorates within the institution. Apart from the primary aim of familiarization, the visit also had the initiative of engaging the Deputy Rector Academics on friendly discussion with the motive of seeking his wisdom and advice in regards to the smooth running of the Union.

Sequel to the issues bothering the Students' Union Government and Nigerian Students at large, the SUG officials who embarked on the visit ceased the opportunity to register her trying issues and experience at the desk of the Deputy Rector Academics. These issues which had been challenges of inconveniences to Nigerian Students were stated as follows;

● Consideration to the lifting of ban on students' vehicles

● Re-opening of all the lavatories in students' lecture halls

● Provision of street lights at path ways and strategic points which will be useful for both the hostelites and the students going for night class.

● Completion of the renovation of the SUG secretariat

● Provision of 30 pieces of whiteboards for lecture halls at the various schools

● Renovation of the dilapidated hostel B and other hotels

In response, the *Deputy Rector (Academics)* in his words expressed delightfulness by our presence and the complaints registered. Thus, he said it is only reasonable dialogue that could solve all problems. And he admonished that the Union should continue in same manner of consultation, and consolidation before confrontation.

Moreso, he promised to meet with the *RECTOR* in a detailed discussion regarding to our unbiased concerns tendered before his desk.
A *tour* with Officials of the SUG around the locked *lavatories* & *dilapidated hostels* was scheduled by him to be on *Friday, 25th March, 2022* at the hours of *10:am*

*WARNING AGANIST BIKE RIDERS WITHOUT APRON*

Nigerian students and polytechnic community are advised not to patronize bike riders without the school apron. It is against the school rules and regulations for bike riders to operate in the school without apron, and its assumed that they are impersonators. Pls the only riders allowed to operate in the school are those with apron cause they are the ones that school recognized.
Students are also advised to ask of price before entering a bike.

*FUNERAL ANNOUNCEMENT*

As it is said in the book of ecclesiastes 3:1-8, there is a time for everything, time to be born and a time to die.

Regrettably, we wish to announce the untimely death of one of our own *Miss Alozie Ogechi Victoria * from * Office Technology and Management department (OTM)* who took her last breath on saturday by 11:15pm.

May her soul rest in peace Amen 😭😭😭. However, we shall be having a candle procession around the school premises Tomorrow being *Wednesday 23/2/2022 by 8:00am*, starting from access bank. This is to pay our last respect to her as Nigeria student and Nekedite

The Staff of DSA had a joint general summit with incumbent SUG officials and immediate past SUG officials to discuss the affairs of the Nigerian students.

The summit which was held at division of students affairs building was geared towards a better package for the students welfare as the ALUTA GOD'S PROJECT had the opportunity to milk from the experience of the immediate past officials.

The immediate past SUG officials under the leadership of H.E Comr.Nnanna Philip sized the opportunity to donate 16 plastic chairs to the Division of Students' Affairs in appreciation to them for smooth co-orperation they enjoyed while in service.

The Dean of DSA (Dr Okoroafia Okoroafor) while speaking appreciated the Aluta United team and spirit in service as promised to recommend them should the school start recruitment exercise.

Rev Mrs Amaonu appreciated them for the chairs, advised and blessed them.
