Season of Giving in Ika North-East 🎄

In the true spirit of Christmas, the Executive Chairman of Ika North-East Local Government Area, Hon. Monday Odigwe, has been spreading joy, hope, and goodwill across the LGA. Since December 18th, he has remained committed to ensuring that every resident feels the warmth and love of the season.

As part of this generous outreach, essential items including bags of rice, cows, rams, goats, groundnut oil, Maggi, salt, cash support, and more have been distributed to families and individuals across various communities.

Beyond the festive celebrations, Hon. Odigwe’s compassion extends to healthcare and human welfare. He has selflessly paid for surgeries and hospital bills, especially for nursing mothers and vulnerable individuals, including people he has never met—reflecting his deep commitment to humanity and service.

Widely regarded as one of the best-performing LGA Chairmen in the South-South region, Hon. Monday Odigwe continues to lead by example, embodying true leadership through generosity, empathy, and action. OTOKOKPO MARKET WEARS A NEW LOOK, READY FOR COMMISSIONING — Hon. Odigwe

The Executive Chairman of Ika North East Local Government Area, Honourable Monday Odigwe, has announced that the newly constructed Otolokpo Market has been fully completed and is now set for commissioning.

Hon. Odigwe disclosed this during his inspection visit to the project site, where he commended the construction team for their dedication and for completing the project in less than two months.

The modern market features 20 lock-up shops, 60 open shops, and 8 large open sections, designed to comfortably serve every quarter of the Otolokpo community.

For the people of Otolokpo, the transformed market has sparked excitement and gratitude. Many residents praised the administration of Hon. Odigwe for delivering meaningful development.
“Is this our former market? I don’t even know what to say. God will bless Hon. Monday Odigwe for coming to our aid. Otolokpo now has what is truly called a market,” a resident expressed joyfully.

Hon. Odigwe Inspects Ongoing Construction of New Chairman’s Office Complex

The Executive Chairman of Ika North-East Local Government Area, Hon. Monday Odigwe, on Wednesday, November 27th, carried out an inspection tour of the ongoing construction of the New Chairman’s Office Complex at the Council Secretariat, Owa-Oyibu.

Hon. Odigwe was accompanied by the Leader of the Legislative Arm, Rt. Hon. (Engr.) Eric Chukwuyem Dikenwosi, the Director of Administration, Mr. Emeke Nweke, and the Director of Information, Mr. Godwin Eziokwu. The Chairman expressed satisfaction with the level of work already completed.

It will be recalled that one year ago, Hon. Odigwe pledged to build a befitting government office complex that would serve as a unifying hub for the people of Ika North-East. What began as a vision is now taking shape as a reality.

During the inspection, the Chairman announced that the project is expected to be completed by December, noting that the new edifice will give the Local Government a major facelift and strengthen administrative efficiency.

Hon. Odigwe appreciated the people of Ika North-East for their trust and continuous support, assuring them that his administration remains committed to delivering more dividends of democracy across all communities.
