The State Governor, HE. fr. Hycinth Alia Responds To an Emergency Call From Hon. Angbo Kennedy In Less Than 24 Hours.

Following the broadcast protest on Channels TV on Wednesday, 2nd April, 2025, by the honorable member representing the people of Otukpo/Akpa State Constituency, Hon. Angbo Kennedy, who protested the senseless killings and kidnappings of the people of Otukpo LGA which he represent, particularly in Asa Communities, Okpomaju and Odudaje. Yesterday, in less than 24 hours after the concerns raised by the honorable member on broadcast, the Executive Governor of Benue State, His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, in his feedback, took decisive action in response to the recent violence in Asa Communities. Governor Alia and other officials of the state government including the Deputy Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Lami Danladi, the Honorable Commissioner for Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Hon. Michael Oglegba, Commissioner for Water Resources, Environment and Climate Change, Hon. Ameh Odoh Ugwu, Commissioner for Power and Transport, Barr. Omale Omale, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Hon. Tersoo Kula, Deputy Chief of Staff to the Deputy Governor of Benue State, Hon. Barr. Musa Ujor, the State Assembly Member Representing Otukpo/Akpa State Constituency, Hon. Angbo Kennedy Agbogo, Heads of Security Agencies, who were accompanied by officials of the Otukpo local government council including the Executive Chairman of Otukpo local government council, Hon. Prince Maxwell Ogiri and his Deputy, Hon. Mrs. Enuwa Efada Soo, Ward Councilors and Party Stakeholders, to assess the deplorable and devastating states of communities that have recently been subjected to brutal attacks by armed assailants and condole with families of victims.
In addressing families of victims and residents of the various communities, Gov. Alia condemned these atrocities in the strongest possible terms, and on behalf of the officials of the state government expressed deepest condolences and sympathies to families who lost their loved ones and those held captive to these heinous acts, and assured his commitment to doing everything in his power to address the situation.
Governor Alia also noted that the state government is working closely with security agencies to investigate the incident and bring the perpetrators to justice. And affirmed the declaration of state of emergency in the affected areas and mobilized security personnel to restore law and order.
In his ends, the governor call on the state emergency agency to provide humanitarian assistance to affected communities to ensure wellness and safety.
This prompt response by the governor reaffirms the state government's commitment to ensuring the safety and security of Benue State Citizens' lives and properties.
