Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on Tuesday attended the official flag-off ceremony for the rehabilitation of the Gbalefefe–Famia Road in Modakeke, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to infrastructure development across the state.
Speaking at the event, the Director of Works (Highway Services) disclosed that the project would be executed in four phases, with immediate commencement of Phases 1 and 2, covering the stretch from Gbalefefe through Omi Igbin, Alabameta, Koola to Asabi. He assured that the initial phases would be completed within four months.
The Director further announced that pothole rehabilitation works would be carried out along the Itaasin–Our Lady’s Junction–Gbalefefe corridor, while a complete overlay is planned for the Mayfair–Iraye–Ondo Road axis. He appealed to residents for cooperation and patience during the construction period.
In his remarks, the Ogunsua of Modakeke expressed appreciation to Governor Adeleke for his continued attention to the community’s developmental needs. He pledged the unwavering support of the people of Modakeke to the state government and noted that additional requests would be presented to the governor privately.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Adeleke, after leading the crowd in his signature tune “Saabada ni e lu fun,” reiterated that his administration remains focused on delivering tangible results, describing his government as one of action rather than rhetoric.
The governor thereafter performed the ceremonial cutting of the tape, officially flagging off the road rehabilitation project.
The event was attended by the Deputy Governor, members of the Osun State House of Assembly, members of the State Executive Council, executives of the Modakeke Progressive Union (MPU), community leaders, and other stakeholders.
