It was rather agreed to amend it to a motion for building registration since properties are easily identified.

The motion was then refered for correction.

Announcement.

One Mr. Solomon who insulted the Councillors was noted to have been summoned on the sitting of Wednesday 23rd of April.

The Clerk also informed the House that there's a petition against a councilor.

Having brought up a copy of the petition, the law makers rejected it on the ground that a copy of petition cannot be sent to them. It should be made in copies to go round.

ADJOURNMENT

Having exhausted all agendas, motion for Adjournment of the sitting was moved by Hon. Obinna Okeke and was supported by Hon. Chinaka Nnadi.

Closing prayer was led by Hon. Rita Odidika.

THE SITTING OF THE LEGISLATORS OF ORLU LGA

Order 11 of the sitting of the Legislators of Orlu LGA, held on Tuesday, 22nd of April, 2025, at the Hallow Chambers of the Council.

Opening prayer was led by Hon. Chi Donatus Okorie, Councilor representing Umuna ward.

The Leader of the House, Rt. Hon. Chidera Ekeocha welcomed the legislators, and urged them for active participation in the day's sitting.

He further read out invitations and correspondences for the House.

Minutes of the previous sitting was read by the Clark of the Council, Barr. Ihe Charity.

Corrections were made.

Motion for the adoption of the minutes was moved by Hon. Amb. Magnus C. Okorie, Councilor representing Owerre-Ebeiri ward, and was supported by Hon Engr. Solomon Nwogaraku, representing Eziachi/Amike ward.

MOTIONS OF THE DAY

A motion for the reading of the motions of the day was moved by Hon. Obinna Okeke, representing Ohafor Okporo/Umutanze ward, and was supported by Hon. Chi Donatus Okorie, representing Umuna ward.

A motion for the establishment of a committee for the 'Know Your Neighbors' was read by the sponsor, Hon. Amb. Magnus C. Okorie.

OBSERVATIONS

An observation was made by Hon. Obinna Okeke, who equally highlighted about two points to include in the motion.

Hon. Engr. Solomon Nwogaraku pointed out also, that the motion should be about establishment of Liaison Officers in Orlu LGA, across the 36 autonomous communities instead of Committee to avoid clash.

It was noted for corrections.

Another motion for the establishment of Land Registration act was equally read by Hon. Amb. Magnus Okorie as the sponsor.

The motion met so many concerned issues hence going on with it may cause so many litigations involving the local government in future since the local government may not easily identify the real owners of the lands

It was rather agreed to amend it to a motion for building registration since properties are easily identified.

Having been cleared that all the additions were captured, the Leader, Rt. Hon. Chidera Ekeocha called for voice vote for the passage of the budget.

While all the members present supported the passage of the budget, the budget was therefore passed into law of Friday, the 4th of April 2025 at about 1:45pm.

It was resolved that a letter to that effect will be forwarded to the Executive Chairman, Hon. Pastor Chris Mbarie.

Signing of the Standing Rules of the House was called for, and appropriately done.

The Leader thanked members of the committee that handled the standing Rules of the House, and also hailed the Clerk of the Council, Barr. Ihe Charity, for guides and directives.

Hon. Engr. Solomon Nwabueze Nwogaraku called for a budget to be made for the equipping and furnishing the Hallow Chamber of the Council with things like curtains, fans/AC as the case may be, to make it more conducive for the purpose.

It was refered to next sitting.

The issue of one Mr. Solomon from Town Planning was raised, who abused the Councillors. It was agreed that he will be made to appear before the Councillors in their next sitting to apologize.

ADJOURNMENT
In the absence of any other deliberations, Hon. Engr. Solomon Nwabueze Nwogaraku moved motion for the adjournment of the sitting till yet to be announced date, and was supported by Hon. Rita Odidika, while closing prayer was led by Hon. Engr. Solomon Nwogaraku.

Thereafter, the Leader of the House, Rt. Hon. Chidera Ekeocha, entertained everyone with assorted foods.

THE SITTING OF THE LEGISLATORS OF ORLU LGA 1.

Order 10 of the sitting of the Legislators of Orlu LGA, held on Friday, the 4th of April, 2025, at the Hallow Chambers of the Council.

Opening prayer was led by Hon Engr. Solomon Nwabueze Nwogaraku, representing Eziachi/Amike ward.

The Leader of the House, Rt. Hon. Chidera Ekeocha welcomed the legislators, and charged them to be proactive while the business of the day last.

The minutes of the previous sitting was read by the Clerk of the Council, Barr. Ihe Charity.

Observations were pointed out by Hon. Engr. Solomon Nwabueze Nwogaraku, who equally moved motion for adoption of the minutes, and was seconded by Hon. Rita Odidika, representing Ohaeke Okporo ward.

MATTERS FROM THE MINUTES

Hon. Engr. Solomon Nwabueze Nwogaraku reminded the House of the motion he sponsored on the need for the Councillors to be incorporated in projects that are being executed in their various wards. This is because the Councillors are closer to the people, and can reach out to them more.

ORDER OF THE DAY
BUDGET READING/PASSAGE

A motion was moved by Hon. Amb. Magnus C. Okorie for the budget to be ready for the third time, and was seconded by Hon. Engr. Solomon Nwabueze Nwogaraku.

The Budget of Restoration was read for the third time.

It was observed that there was upwards adjustment on the budget to accommodate some amendments and community project addition on the budget.

The initial budget that was presented by the Executive Chairman of Orlu LGA, Hon. Pastor Chris Mbarie was at the tone of four billion, forty six million, six hundred and twenty eight thousand, six hundred and eighty seven naira. (N4, 046, 628, 687).
