44 Days After the Ogbomoso Education Summit: The Vision Comes Alive.

Forty-four (44) days ago, a landmark history was made in Ogbomosoland.

His Imperial Majesty, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye (Orumogege III), convened the first-ever Ogbomoso Education Summit through the Ogbomoso Education Committee — a pivotal stride toward the transformation he envisions for Ogbomosoland. The summit underscored His Majesty’s commitment to ensuring access to quality education for every indigene, promoting teachers’ upskilling, enhancing educational infrastructure, and advancing technological competence — all in alignment with his 25-year development vision for Ogbomosoland.

A major highlight of the summit was the launch of the Ogbomosoland Education Trust Fund, a dedicated account for financing the impactful educational initiatives designed by the Committee under the leadership of Prof. Segun Ajiboye.

Just forty-four days later, the vision that began in the heart of Oba Ghandi Afọlábí Olaoye is already becoming reality. Promises made are being fulfilled, and the possibilities ahead are boundless.

As of today, the Orumogege III Exercise Books, which about 1,000 students initially received at the summit, have reached 78 schools, touching the lives of 7,018 pupils with a total of 28,072 exercise books distributed across the five local governments of Ogbomosoland.

Additionally, about 7,000 American novels and motivational books have been distributed to youth and student organizations in Ogbomoso — including the National Youth Council of Nigeria (Ogbomoso Chapter), Ogbomoso Youth for Good Governance, Federation of Ogbomoso Students Union (FOGSU), LAUTECH Students Union Government (SUG), National Association of University Students (Oyo CMC), and National Association of Nigerian Students (Oyo JCC), among others.

Indeed, what was once a dream is now a tangible movement.
The Ogbomosoland of every young person’s dream is gradually taking shape — one initiative at a time.

Together, we can partner to birth even greater possibilities.
