COMMANDANT S.S. ANIVIYE PRESENTS CERTIFICATES OF COMPLETION TO OFFICERS AFTER CAPACITY-BUILDING TRAININGS

The Niger State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant Suberu Siyaka Aniviye, has presented Certificates of Completion of Training to officers of the Command who successfully participated in various training and capacity-building programmes at the National Headquarters of the Corps in Abuja.

The State Commandant, earlier today, received the officers at the Command Headquarters and commended them for their successful participation and completion of the respective programmes, noting that continuous training and professional development remain essential to enhancing operational efficiency and service delivery.

Among the officers who participated in and successfully completed the Five-Day Retreat/Symposium for Arms Unit Commanders were CSC Anas Sh*tu Lamino and CSC I.I. Tahir from the Arms Unit, as well as SC Abdulraheem Muhammad and ASCl Idris Ibrahim Kure from the Armoury Unit.

Similarly, SC Hadiza Ejura Abubakar and SC Hauwa Gana Muhammadu successfully participated in and completed the Female Squad Training on Operational Deliverables and Evidence-Based Research Techniques, held at the National Headquarters of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Abuja.

Presenting the certificates, Commandant Aniviye congratulated the officers on their successful completion of the programmes and urged them to put the knowledge, skills and professional experience acquired into practical use in the discharge of their responsibilities.

He further emphasized the importance of continuous learning, discipline, professionalism and adherence to operational standards, stressing that the Corps remains committed to building the capacity of its personnel to effectively respond to emerging security challenges.

The Commandant expressed confidence that the knowledge and expertise gained by the officers would contribute positively to strengthening the operational capacity of the Niger State Command and improving its overall service delivery.

COMMANDANT S.S. ANIVIYE PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO HYPPADEC, REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO STRONGER COLLABORATION

The State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Niger State Command, Commandant Suberu Siyaka Aniviye, has paid a courtesy visit to the Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (HYPPADEC) office in Niger State.

The visit was aimed at strengthening the existing relationship between the NSCDC Niger State Command and HYPPADEC, as well as fostering greater collaboration in the protection of critical national assets and infrastructure within the State.

Speaking during the visit, Commandant Aniviye stated that he had long desired to visit the Commission in order to familiarise himself with its operations and appreciate the significant contributions it has continued to make to the development of hydroelectric power-producing communities.

The Commandant expressed his appreciation to the management of HYPPADEC for its continued support and cooperation with the Corps, noting that such partnership remains essential to achieving a safer and more secure environment for development.

In his response, the Managing Director of HYPPADEC, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa, appreciated Commandant Aniviye for the visit and commended the NSCDC for its professionalism, dedication and invaluable contributions towards the protection of lives, property and critical national assets in Niger State and Nigeria at large.

The Managing Director further reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to sustaining the existing partnership with the Corps. In recognition of the cordial relationship between both organisations, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa presented a gift to the State Commandant as a symbol of goodwill and further cementing the existing relationship between HYPPADEC and the NSCDC Niger State Command.

The visit ended on a positive note, with both organisations expressing their commitment to deepening collaboration and strengthening the protection of critical infrastructure and development projects across Niger State.

COMMANDANT S.S. ANIVIYE RECEIVES DELEGATION FROM DOCTORS WITHOUT BORDERS (MSF)

The State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Niger State Command, Commandant Suberu Siyaka Aniviye, today received a delegation from Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), also known as Doctors Without Borders, during a courtesy visit to the State Command Headquarters.

During the visit, the delegation introduced MSF as an international, independent, non-profit medical humanitarian organisation committed to providing emergency medical assistance to people affected by armed conflicts, epidemics, natural disasters and exclusion from healthcare.

The organisation was founded in 1971 by a group of journalists and doctors and has since grown into a global humanitarian movement with thousands of staff working across numerous countries to provide lifesaving medical care to vulnerable populations.

The delegation explained that its activities are aimed at complementing existing healthcare efforts by providing medical and humanitarian assistance to communities facing critical health challenges.

In his response, the State Commandant, Comdt. Suberu Siyaka Aniviye, appreciated the delegation for the visit. He assured them of the Command's cooperation and support within the limits of its mandate.

However, the Commandant advised the organisation to always maintain proper communication and notify the relevant security agencies of their movements, programmes and activities within the State.

MEDIATION OF FARMERS–HERDERS CONFLICT IN SHIRORO “B” DIVISION, GWADA

Earlier today, 1st September, 2026, the DCC Agro Rangers Unit of the NSCDC Niger State Command, DCC Haruna David Zaki, directed the Divisional Officer, Shiroro “B” Division, Gwada, SC Joshua Habila to intervene in a longstanding farmers–herders dispute between residents of Akpa Village and members of the Fulani community.

In compliance with the directive, the Divisional Officer invited representatives of both parties for a mediation meeting aimed at addressing the issues responsible for the prolonged disagreement and finding a peaceful resolution.

The intervention was conducted with the support and cooperation of prominent Fulani leaders in the community, including Ardo Abdullahi, Alh. Lolo and Alh. Wori. Following constructive discussions, both parties were given the opportunity to express their grievances, after which they reached an understanding and agreed to put their differences behind them in the interest of peace and peaceful coexistence.

The two parties were consequently advised and warned to maintain peace, avoid actions capable of reigniting the conflict, respect one another’s rights, and adopt dialogue as a means of resolving any future disagreements.

The Command remains committed to strengthening peaceful coexistence between farmers and herders and will continue to support community-based interventions aimed at preventing conflicts and maintaining peace across the State.

COMMANDANT S.S. ANIVIYE WARNS PIPELINE VANDALS TO DESIST OR FACE FULL WRATH OF THE LAW

The State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Niger State Command, Commandant Suberu Siyaka Aniviye, has issued a stern warning to individuals and criminal elements involved in the vandalisation, tampering with, or attempted destruction of pipelines and other critical national assets and infrastructure across the state to immediately desist from such acts or be prepared to face the full consequences of the law.

The Commandant, through the Command's Public Relations Officer, DSC Abubakar M.R. Muti, gave the warning following credible intelligence received by the Command regarding suspected plans and activities aimed at vandalising critical national infrastructure, particularly pipelines, within parts of Niger State.

Commandant Aniviye described the vandalisation of pipelines and other critical national assets as a serious economic and security threat capable of causing significant damage to government infrastructure, disrupting economic activities, endangering lives and property, and undermining national development.

He stressed that the NSCDC Niger State Command would not tolerate any form of economic sabotage or criminal activity targeted at critical national assets. He warned that anyone found to be directly or indirectly involved in the vandalisation, destruction, tampering with, or unlawful interference with pipelines would be arrested and made to face the full weight of the law.

Consequently, the State Commandant has directed all Area Commanders, Divisional Officers, Area Intelligence Officers, Divisional Intelligence Officers, Anti-Vandal Units, and other relevant operational commanders across the state to intensify surveillance, intelligence gathering, patrols and monitoring of pipelines and other critical national assets within their respective areas of responsibility.

He further directed personnel to maintain a proactive security posture and strengthen collaboration with relevant government agencies, host communities and other stakeholders in order to identify suspicious activities, prevent acts of vandalism and promptly respond to emerging threats against critical infrastructure.

The Commandant also called on members of the public, particularly residents of communities hosting pipelines and other critical national infrastructure, to remain vigilant and promptly provide credible and useful information to the Corps or other appropriate security agencies concerning the activities of suspected vandals and other criminal elements.

He assured members of the public that credible information provided to the Corps would be handled with the necessary confidentiality, while urging communities not to provide safe havens, logistical support or any form of assistance to individuals involved in the destruction or vandalisation of national assets.

Commandant Aniviye reaffirmed the commitment of the NSCDC Niger State Command to protecting critical national assets and infrastructure, combating economic sabotage, and ensuring the safety and security of lives and property across the state.

He therefore reiterated that the warning is unequivocal: any individual or group that attempts to vandalise pipelines or sabotage critical national infrastructure in Niger State will be identified, arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the law.

NSCDC 2I/C JOINS COMMISSIONER OF POLICE TO WELCOME IGP TO NIGER STATE

The Deputy Commandant of Corps DCC Abdul Shehu, has joined the Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command, CP Adamu Abdullahi Elleman, and other senior security officers to receive and welcome the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), IGP Tunji Disu, to Niger State.

The Inspector-General of Police was warmly received at the Niger State Police Command, where he addressed officers and men of the Command and interacted with senior officers on matters concerning effective policing, security coordination and the maintenance of peace and security in the State.

Following his engagement at the Police Command, the IGP proceeded to the Niger State Government House, where he was received by the State Government and other dignitaries.

He later proceeded to the Police Officers’ Mess, where a befitting and warm reception was held in his honour.

The presence of the NSCDC at the occasion further demonstrated the Corps’ commitment to strengthening inter-agency collaboration and maintaining a robust security architecture in Niger State.
