Yesterday was my father’s remembrance, but with a heavy heart I couldn’t even bring myself to post it.
The pain still sits deep in my chest. I miss him more than words can express. There is no day that passes without me thinking about him — his advice, his strength, his love, his sacrifices.
Sometimes, I wish I could turn back the hands of time. I regret every moment I didn’t listen to him, every warning I ignored, every opportunity I didn’t take seriously. Now I understand what he was trying to protect me from. Now I am facing the reality of life, and I’m suffering in ways he tried so hard to prevent.
If I had known better…
If I had listened more…
If I had valued his words as deeply as I do today…
But even in my pain, one thing is clear: I want to make him proud. Everything I am fighting for today is for the man who gave everything for me. I carry his name, his dreams, his teachings, and his strength with me wherever I go.
Daddy, I miss you.
I wish you were here to see the person I am becoming.
I wish you were here to guide me, correct me, encourage me, or even scold me.
But I hope, wherever you are, you can see my heart. I hope you can see that I’m trying.
I hope you can see that I learned.
And I hope you know I love you now more than ever.
Rest on, Dad. Your memory lives in me forever.
