*DISCLAIMER: LABOUR PARTY BENUE STATE HAS NOT ENDORSED SEN. EMMANUEL UDENDE AS THE PREFERRED SENATORIAL CANDIDATE FOR BENUE NORTH EAST (ZONE A)*

Labour party in Benue State wishes to bring to the notice of its party members and the general public on the reports making the rounds on social media to have endorsed Sen. Udende Emmanuel as the preferred candidate for the seat at the red hallowed chambers of the National Assembly to represent the good people of Benue North East senatorial district (ZONE A)

Labour party wishes to state clearly and unequivocally that Sen. Udende Emmanuel has not been endorsed or adopted in any way or form by labour party in Benue State and such media outings or reports should be ignored and disregarded by the general public.

This misguided report has obviously generated tension amongst members of the party and seemingly distracted the unsuspecting members of the public and has continued to be the contemporary discourse overheating the polity particularly amongst stakeholders within the party.

While we understand the frustration expressed by some well meaning members of the party and the feeling of disappointment and betrayal as registered by other stakeholders, and perhaps the numerous concerned supporters and members of the public.

We wish to first and foremost sincerely apologize for the unfortunate misinformation and pledge to contain such wrong postulations going forward, it perhaps became imperative to address your genuine concerns imminently and correct the misgivings as circulated on the social media spaces, hence this immediate press release.

It is important to emphasize that the party perfectly understands and can relate to the displeasure and the frustration expressed by most of the loyal and committed party faithfuls who have exhibited passion, genuine love, commitment and resilience in the growth and stabilization of the party from it's infant stage and through turbulent times to what it has become today, we promise to hold to those tenets that have sustained the party overtime and will not take you for granted nor yield to any misrepresentation of the party's principles or objectives by any individual or group.

We therefore wish to state clearly and unambiguously that we take exception to the position of the gubernatorial candidate of labour party in the state Comrade Mathias Byuan, on his endorsement of Hon. Sen. Udende Emmanuel of the All Progressive Congress (APC) as the party's preferred candidate for the senatorial seat of Zone A.

We remain resolute to the ideals and objectives of labour party and perhaps open to strategic alliances that are initiated or absorbed, coordinated, determined and endorsed by the party's leadership in consultation with all relevant party stakeholders and the necessary party organs.

While the party allows for the fundamental freedoms of association and expression, individual opinions remain statements of personal conviction and not necessarily the position of the party.
The party has a viable candidate in Dr. Ligom Iyorwuese, a refined gentleman and an astute politician vying for the senatorial seat of Benue North East, senatorial Zone (Zone A) and as a party we are committed to seeing to the victory of our candidate at the polls come January 2027.

Therefore, we appeal to loyal party members and members of the public to disregard such political statements and media outings and remain committed to supporting the party to achieve success at the general elections come 2027.

Be rest assured that if such political alignments are considered, you will be the first to know and shall be supported and reported through the appropriate party channels.
The party remains committed to integrity, justice, equity and equal opportunity.
Thank you and remain blessed.

FORWARD EVER, BACKWARD NEVER.
