The First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Sen. Remi Tinubu, paid an official visit to Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, on the 27/04/2026, to commission several infrastructural projects initiated by the Governor of Borno State, His Excellency, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, fnse, mni.

Upon her arrival at the NAF Wing Air Component 105, OPHK Maiduguri, the First Lady was warmly received by Governor Zulum, accompanied by dignitaries, including the State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Comdt. Ahmed Bello Gaya, finsis, other service commanders, top politicians, and well-wishers.

The occasion was marked with a rousing welcome, as the space was filled with beautiful music and performances by troops from the Ministry of Art and Culture. The atmosphere was electric, reflecting the warmth and hospitality of the people of Borno State.

During her visit, the First Lady also commissioned several infrastructural projects, showcasing the government's commitment to improving the lives of the people of Borno State.

The event was an evidence to the strong partnership between the Federal Government and the Borno State Government, working together to rebuild and develop the state.

CAPTION: NSCDC BORNO STATE COMMAND ENSURES WATERTIGHT SECURITY FOR WEDDING FATIHA OF H.E. PROF. BABAGANA UMARA ZULUM'S CHILDREN

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Borno State Command has deployed personnel to provide adequate security coverage for the Wedding Fatiha of the sons of His Excellency, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, Governor of Borno State.

In compliance with the State Commandant's directive, a total of 220 personnel have been strategically deployed to key locations, including Maiduguri International Airport, Airport Roundabout, Yan Nono Maidoki Roundabout, Shehu's Palace (Wedding Venue), Government House/Govemor's Residence, State Hotel, and other designated hotels accommodating guests, as well as flash points along designated routes.

The security situation across all deployment points remains calm and under control, with continuous monitoring and patrols ongoing to ensure sustained safety and security throughout the duration of the event.

The Command has beefed up security measures before, during, and after the event to provide a watertight security blanket, ensuring a hitch-free and secure environment for all dignitaries and attendees.

The NSCDC appreciates the cooperation and support of other security agencies and the public in ensuring the success of this event.

Caption: Borno State Command Ensures Secure and Peaceful Conduct of 2026 JAMB CBT Examination in Borno State

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Borno State Command is pleased to announce the successful and incident-free conduct of the 2026 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Computer-Based Test (CBT) Examination across the state.

The examination, which commenced on Thursday 16th April, 2026 is in progress and it is expected to end on Monday 20th April, 2026. So far, it was conducted peacefully and without any security breach in all designated centres in Maiduguri Metropolitan Council and Biu Local Government Area.

The State Commandant, CC Ahmed Bello Gaya, finsis commended the personnel of the Corps for their professionalism, vigilance, and diligence in ensuring the security and integrity of the examination process.

The Command's efforts were enhanced by the strategic support and directive of the Commandant General, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, which included the deployment of modern digital equipment for online and real-time monitoring and supervision of JAMB CBT Centres.

The NSCDC Borno State Command appreciates the cooperation and support of other security agencies, examination bodies, and the public in ensuring the success of the examination.

The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Borno State Command, CC Ahmad Bello Gaya, FINSIS, has launched and distributed operational gadgets procured by the National Headquarters of NSCDC Abuja under the leadership of Prof Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, Commandant General NSCDC.

The launching, which took place at the Command's Headquarters, was aimed at promoting operational intelligence and enhancing the performance of men and officers in the frontline. The distributed gadgets include all-in-one bags fully packed with a mini tablet, solar panel, mini inverter, wireless Bluetooth mouse and keyboard with a stylus pen, Mavic 3E DJI unmanned aircraft (Drone), rain boots, stun guns, pepper spray, mini HD video camera, operational boots, uniforms, helmets, binoculars, among others.

In his speech, the Commandant emphasized the importance of the gadgets in enhancing the operational capabilities of the Command, stating that they are designed to promote efficiency and effectiveness in the discharge of their duties. He urged the men and officers to make good use of the gadgets to ensure the security of lives and property in the State.

Following the Commandant's speech, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) took the men and officers through an excursion, demonstrating how the gadgets can be put to use. This was immediately followed by a symbolic distribution of the gadgets to the personnel.

The Commandant expressed his gratitude to the Commandant General Prof Ahmed Abubakar Audi and his Management team at the National Headquarters for the foresight and the modern operational gadgets, stating that it is a testament to the commitment of the leadership of the Corps to enhancing the operational capabilities of its personnel.

NSCDC BORNO STATE COMMAND PRESS RELEASE

OPERATIONAL ORDER FOR GOOD FRIDAY AND EASTER MONDAY CELEBRATIONS IN MAIDUGURI

Date: 3rd-6th April 2026 (Good Friday to Easter Monday)

Objective: To ensure a peaceful and secure environment for Good Friday and Easter Monday celebrations in Maiduguri.

Security Measures:

1. Deployment of personnel: Deploy NSCDC personnel to all designated worship areas, markets, and public gathering points.
2. Checkpoints: Establish checkpoints at major entry and exit points of the city.
3. Patrols: Conduct mobile and foot patrols in and around worship areas.
4. Intelligence gathering: Collaborate with other security agencies to gather intelligence on potential security threats.

Deployment
The command has deployed 1450 personnel across the state include the area commands and the 27 Local Governments in Maiduguri, the deployment however involves all operational wings (RRS, ASV, Arms Squad, CTU, CBRNE), Intelligence and special units.

Traffic Management:

1. Traffic control: Deploy traffic personnel to manage traffic flow around worship areas.
2. Road closures: Close roads leading to worship areas to prevent congestion.
3. Parking arrangements: Designate parking areas for worshippers.

Emergency Response:

1. Emergency response teams: Establish emergency response teams equipped with first aid kits and communication devices.
2. Ambulance services: Arrange for ambulance services at worship areas.
3. Incident reporting: Establish a reporting mechanism for incidents or emergencies.

Coordination:

1. Inter-agency coordination: Coordinate with other security agencies, church leaders, and local authorities.
2. Community engagement: Engage with community leaders and worshippers to promote peaceful celebrations.

Command and Control:

1. Command center: Establish a command center to monitor operations.
2. Incident reporting: Report incidents to the command center.
3. Communication: Maintain communication with all deployed personnel.

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Borno State Command has ensured a peaceful Eid-el-Fitr celebration with enhanced security measures. Commandant Ahmed Bello Gaya, FINSIS, deployed 1,450 personnel, including armed, unarmed, and intelligence officers, to Eid prayer grounds, markets, motor parks, and other vulnerable points.

The Commandant joined other dignitaries, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, Deputy Governor Usman Umar Kadafur, and the Shehu of Borno, Alh. Dr Abubakar Umar Ibn Garba Elkanemi, to observe Eid prayers at Ramat Square Ground, Maiduguri. The Commandant exchanged pleasantries with the Deputy Governor, His Excellency Usman Umar Kadafur, on the occasion.

The event was carried out smoothly without any security breaches. The NSCDC has assured worshippers of their safety across the state and urged them to observe Eid prayers at designated grounds closest to their residences.

The State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Borno State Command, Ahmed Bello Gaya, finsis, has paid a courtesy visit to the Director of the State Security Service (SSS) Borno Command, Mr. Adamu Ahmed Umar, fsi.

The visit, which took place on the 17/03/2026, was aimed at strengthening collaboration and building a robust relationship between the two security agencies towards achieving our shared organizational mandate of ensuring peace and security in Borno State.

During the visit, discussions centered on enhancing intelligence sharing, coordinating joint operations, and addressing common security challenges facing the state.

The State Commandant expressed his appreciation for the warm reception and reiterated the commitment of the NSCDC to work closely with the SSS and other security agencies to ensure a secure environment for the people of Borno State.

COMDT. AB GAYA FINSIS REITERATED THE NSCDC 'S COMMITMENT TO SAFETY OF LIVES AND PROPERTIES WHILE COMMISERATING WITH INJURED VICTIMS OF MULTIPLE BLAST IN BORNO STATE

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Borno State Command has responded swiftly to the recent multiple bomb blast attacks in Maiduguri, which resulted in several deaths and over 23 injured.

The Commandant, Ahmed Bello Gaya, visited the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH) and the General Manager of Maiduguri Monday market to sympathize with victims and authorities.

The Commandant emphasized his commitment to providing adequate security cover throughout the remaining days of Ramadan and he also called on citizens to support security agencies with actionable intelligence to prevent further attacks.

The Commandant's visit aims to boost morale and reassure the public of the agency's dedication to securing lives and property.

The Corps has also intensified surveillance and security operations across Maiduguri to track down suspects and prevent further attacks. The public is urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
