Happy Christmas to my family, mentors, teachers, friends and colleagues all over the world.

May Allah grant us the wisdom to understand the power of Love and may our similarities overshadow our differences in our private and public dealings.

May religious fanatics never succeed in creating a gap of hatred amongst all religions of the universe. I prays the spirit of Christmas brings peace, harmony and alots of goddies to our dear nation.

May this season help us understand the difference between religiosity and spirituality. And may spirituality (which is individual-based) take the lead as that is what make or mar individual's relationship with the Ancient of Days!

Once again, Merry Christmas!!!

A Press Statement of the National Association of Kogi State Students (NAKOSS) National Secretariat, on the face-off between the Kogi State Government and Dangote Group.

OBAJANA: WE'LL SEEK JUSTICE UP TO INTERNATIONAL COURT - NAT'L ASSOCIATION OF KOGI STUDENTS

We have watched with concern the face-off between the Government of Kogi State and the Dangote Group over the ownership of the Obajana Cement Company, and we are obliged to make very clear our position on the issue after diligently studying the facts of the dispute as well as making far-reaching consultations with relevant stakeholders.

We have also followed how the Dangote Group has tried to divert the attention of the public from the crux of the matter with questionable claims of violence against its workers at the time of closure.
From time immemorial, the purpose of government has been to safeguard the overall wellbeing of the people by guaranteeing their social and economic security. This is what the Kogi State Government has done by insisting on correcting the age-long economic intimidation of its host state by the Dangote Group.

As indigenes of Kogi State, we affirm that the Government of Kogi State, under Alhaji Yahaya Bello, should be commended for demanding evidence of a strange agreement that delivered our birth rights, 100 per cent, on a platter of gold to Dangote Group, despite the fact that Obajana Cement Factory was established and nurtured by the Kogi State Government until Dangote offered to partner with the state. There are documents already in the public domain detailing the economic injustice carried out against the Kogi people in view of an investment that has not for one day benefitted them.

We have listened to the misleading argument of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) in its press statement of Friday, 7th October, 2022, and we are duty bound to inform the public that the argument of this association, which the whole world knows is being controlled by Alhaji Aliko Dangote, is lopsided and lacks merit.

This and other such arguments by other associations in the league of MAN are, to say the least, a slap on the faces of indigenes of our state who have been unfairly exploited for years, with many either dying daily from environmental hazards arising from Dangote's activities in the area or in the hands of its reckless drivers that have killed many across Nigeria. All these hazards, yet nothing accrues to the government from a concern it created.

Let it be clear that we are students of Kogi State learning in higher institutions across Nigeria; but we can safely reflect the minds of even our family members that this struggle is not that of the Governor or the House of Assembly alone. It is our collective struggle and we will seek justice as far as the International Court.

We acknowledge the efforts of Aliko Dangote to industrialize the country, create jobs and wealth through various factories, but we wish to state unequivocally that he cannot rewrite history in our own case as we know the story of Obajana from inception.

This case is simple. Show evidence of consideration or payment, 100 per cent, for our Obajana and we will tell the whole world to judge.

It is our strongly held opinion that the fact-finding action of the Kogi State House of Assembly that exposed the inability of the Management of Dangote Cement to show evidence of responsible transfer of the shares of the company belonging to Kogi State is an action in the right direction, especially that the company was given ample opportunity to provide proof.

We wish to call on public commentators, industrialist groups and well meaning citizens to know the facts of the case before making public comments in order to avoid the counter-productive error of misinforming the unsuspecting public.

While we appeal to both parties to embrace peace and dialogue, we strongly commend the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello and the State House of Assembly for the diligent efforts that culminated in shutting down the factory.

We encourage the press to embrace investigative reporting and publish only what is true. A visit to Obajana and interaction with the indigenes would provide a clear picture of what transpired on the day of closure aside from what is being concocted by the Dangote Group.

We however want to send a strong warning to the Dangote Group that any attempt to paint Kogi youths black in this just struggle would be resisted.

Enough is enough!

As legendary Lucky Dube had suggested that education is the key, the role of education to societal growth can never be overemphasized. The great Nelson Mandela opinionated too that education is the passport to the future. Hence, the essence of putting education first above all things

Consequently, elites who makes meaningful contribution to education in our society must be seen as gold and great human assets for the fact that their contributions helps meaningfully in building the next generation and as well assist in sustaining societal value

It's in this regard that the leadership of NAKOSS send gratitudes to Mr Richard Osaseyi, the CEO of Osaseyi Foundation that doled out the sum of Two Million naira in cash to support public school students of Okoro-Gbede, Ijumu L.G.A of Kogi State

"There's no doubt that Mr Richard Osaseyi has left a worthy footprint with his name well etched in history books for good"

The President further stressed that "Such behavior is highly commendable and well recommended for worthy citizens of Kogi State to take cue from, especially for the fact that we can collectively through community services build the Kogi of tomorrow that we all dream of"

In her closing remarks, Comrade Mojirola enjoined Mr Richard Osaseyi to be encouraged and never relent in extending his good gestures for the promotion of the state, especially in the education sector.

NAKOSS NATIONAL EXTOLS GOVERNOR YAHAYA BELLO ON 47TH BIRTHDAY, DESCRIBES HIM AS A LEADER FOR ALL AND AN INSPIRATION TO NIGERIAN YOUTHS

The high level of confidence and faith that resonates within His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello is one that worths a learn

Never have we in the history of our dear State been this blessed with such a vivacious, healthy and people-oriented leader like Governor Yahaya Bello who came solely to raise the bar of leadership so high that generations to come who would want to attain such peak must have to from learn from his mastery of leadership

The high-flying political colossus has etched his name on the rocksolid part of Kogi's history for taking the bull by the horn to drive her into the league of fastest growing states in Nigeria, on a larger picture and in the annal of the country's democratic history, Governor Yahaya Bello has planted his personality firmly rooted for his dexterity and purposefulness in the project REBUILD NIGERIA which has been so obvious for the blind to see, for the deaf to hear and for dwarfs to gaze from aloof

We are exhilaratingly proudful that such elegant political bride is traceable to our dear state of the confluence

The Governor is a beauty within and without as he has shown with utmost examplariness, especially for being such a well refined modern leader who has never handled the yearning of Kogites and Kogi students carelessly for once

We laud the Governor for showing such character to the students of our dear state, a feat which has repositioned our state on the track of academic excellence

NAKOSS NATIONAL CELEBRATE KOGITES ON DEMOCRACY DAY, LABELS GOVERNOR YAHAYA BELLO AS THE NEWEST HERO OF DEMOCRACY, NORTH CENTRAL AND THE APC AT LARGE.

The annulment of the June 12th, 1993 general election adjudged to be the fairest election in the history of democracy by the General Babangida military junta has over the years dented the image of democracy in Nigeria

That preposterously shameful exercise by the military junta deranked Nigeria into the black list of successful democracies in the world, it is however rife to say that it was a blessing in disguise as it offered great lessons, going into the future and thus helped Nigeria recieved international support when she made up her mind and earnestly desired to return to democratic setting in the year 1999

Bashorun Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola who is today posthumously celebrated as the foremost hero of democracy in whose name President Muhammadu Buhari redated the nation's democracy day from May 29th to June 12th
had his will and victory to serve the people of Nigeria shortchanged for unjust imprisonment and eventual death - This incident however opened the eyes of well meaning Nigerians to see the evil machinations of the military whose primary assignments are practically for territorial defence

Unarguably, the date change by the current administration is not only fair but highly commendable and it has become part of the nation's moving democracy

Away from the above, our state and political actors have played tremendous roles in deepening the beauty of democracy in Nigeria, especially the government who has represented and made Kogites feel the impact of good governance by ensuring security, peace, unity and progress as well as equally engendering equal participation which are all the foremost indices of progressive democracy, hence the need to celebrate Kogites on this special day in the history of our developing democracy

Notably, H.E Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello worths a label of the newest bride of democracy in Nigeria as he has fought tooth and nail with the enemies of adequate security in Kogi State and dealt brutal blows to their cheeks, and thereby creating a peaceful environment for Kogites to trade easily without fears of the unknown

Again, Governor Yahaya Bello equally ensured that all interest groups are adequately represented in his government with special attention shifted to the youths and women; the transparency and accountability prowess displayed by the Governor endeared the state to foreign financial organizations that has at one point or the other lauded the confluence state for being the best in terms of reputable governance

Of importance too, the recently conducted APC Presidential primaries saw 23 aspirants jostled for the ruling party's ticket, Governor Yahaya Bello shook every corners of the nation as the standing voice of the North Central and a bridge builder between the old, youths and women; while anti-democratic forces made efforts to sabotage the primaries by a half-baked consensus plan, it was still Governor Yahaya Bello that stood his ground that election must be conducted for every aspirant to have the feel of true democracy and equal democratic rights

Again, while other spineless aspirants chickened out, he fought logically to the end and all priding

The fact remains undebatable that Yahaya Bello is newest bride of democracy, a pride of the North Central and lion of the APC. Asiwaju Bola Tinubu's journey in Nigeria politics has spanned more than 3 decades, Hon. Rotimi Amaechi's first time out of the corridors of power since 1999 was when he stepped down as Minister to run for the Presidency, Prof. Osinbajo is of the 1999 political class too, including Sen. Ahmed Lawan who is presently the longest serving parliamentian having navigated his way through the House of Representatives from 1999-2007 which altogether span two decades plus are all politicians who has wielded politicking experience over the years

For Governor Yahaya Bello to fight shoulder level with these calibre of politicians despite being only seven years into Nigeria politics defines his formidability and foresightedness, it mirrors his audacity and ability to dare odds

Indeed, it was a heroic outing for the long marginalized North Central, Kogites, and even the party itself

Conclusively,we hope and pray as an association that Nigeria would continue to grow more prosperously till our arrive at our dream destination.
