Happy International Women’s Day.

Today we celebrate the strength, compassion, and resilience of women across the world. Women who nurture families, lead communities, inspire change, and quietly transform lives through acts of kindness and service.

The spirit of Give to Gain reminds us that when we give of our time, our care, and our talents, we do not lose anything. Instead, we gain stronger communities, deeper connections, and a more hopeful future for the next generation.

As Lions, our commitment to service allows us to witness this truth every day. Women who serve with dedication demonstrate that true leadership is rooted in compassion, generosity, and a sincere desire to uplift others.

This year, as we mark International Women’s Day, let us continue to serve with renewed energy and a deep Passion for Service, knowing that every act of kindness creates a ripple of positive change.

To every woman who gives, leads, nurtures and serves, thank you for making the world brighter.

Happy International Women’s Day.

Lekki Admiralty Lions Club visited the Oncology Alimata Ward at Lagos University Teaching Hospital to support patients and healthcare workers through the donation of essential medical and hygiene supplies.

Items donated included oxygen gauges, a glucometer with strips, disinfectants, detergents, liquid soap, cleaning tools and a bag of rice. These contributions were generously sponsored by dedicated Lions including Lion Edem Bassey, ZC Esther Ebong, Lion Folasade, Lion Bola Ogunkanmi, Lion Monde Williams and District Governor Mary Onu.

The Matron and nurses expressed heartfelt appreciation for the timely support.

Through simple but meaningful acts, we continue to demonstrate our commitment to compassionate service and community care.

Childhood cancer is real, and it is closer to us than we often realise.

While global statistics are already concerning, the numbers in Africa, and particularly here in Nigeria, are significantly higher due to late diagnosis, limited access to treatment, and low awareness. Many of our children are fighting battles that could be won if detected early.

Today, we lend our voice to every child and family walking this journey. Through awareness, advocacy and support, we can change the story. Early detection saves lives. Let us pay attention, speak up, and stand together. πŸ’›
