A major step forward for basic education in Alimosho! ๐ŸŽ“โœจ

Yesterday, September 2nd, 2026, the Education Secretary of Alimosho LGEA, Dr. Aminat Olawunmi Ige, graced the official commissioning of the newly constructed Orisunmbare Primary School complex; an intervention of the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (OSSAP SDGs), led by Her Excellency Princess Adejoke Orelope Adefulire.

Expressing deep appreciation to Her excellency for the laudable project and by extension to the chairman of Alimosho LGA (Hon. Akinpelu Johnson) & the Member Lagos State House of Assembly Alimosho Constituency 01 (Hon. Lukmon Orelope) for facilitating the delivery, Dr. Ige emphasized that education remains the bedrock of any progressive society. She noted that delivering such modern learning infrastructure to Orisunmbare directly strengthens the foundation of basic education, giving pupils an inspiring space to learn, grow, and thrive.

Also at the event was the Honorable Commisioner for wealth Creation (Hon. Akinyemi Ajigbotafe), Chairman of Mosan-Okunola LCDA (Hon. Akindele Adunni Opeyemi), Royal fathers: HRM Oba Akeeb Rauf Adebowale (Alaye of Orisunmbare), HRM Oba Nasiru Babatunde Ogunronbi (Onishasha of Shasha kingdom), traditional chiefs, cabinet members of Alimosho LGA and other dignitaries.

Following the commissioning ceremony, Dr. Ige paid a courtesy visit to the palace of His Royal Majesty, Oba Akeeb Rauf Adebowale, the Alaye of Orisunmbare land. Beyond paying royal homage, the visit provided an opportunity to engage with the traditional ruler on crucial community support, focusing on safeguarding the newly commissioned facility and other matters around the development of the community through education.

Welcome to a new month! As we step into this fresh season, my earnest prayer is that peace, good health, and divine help fill every home across our community, and that God crowns all our labor with success while keeping our children safe and flourishing.

As we prepare for the upcoming academic session, please be reminded that admissions remain open across all public primary schools in Lagos State. Here in Alimosho LGEA, our doors are open and our schools are fully prepared to provide a safe, inclusive, and quality foundational education for every child. If you are yet to enroll your child or ward, kindly visit any public primary school near you to complete their registration.

With school resumption right around the corner, now is a great time to start easing our children back into regular daily routines, organizing their learning essentials early, and talking with them about simple safety habits for their commute to school.
