AAC ALIMOSHO ENGAGES NAPPMED ALIMOSHO CHAPTER

April 1 2026, AAC Alimosho held a productive engagement with the NAPPMED Alimosho Chapter, where we were warmly received by both the executives and the general members of the association.
During the meeting, State Deputy Chairman of AAC Lagos Comrade Galadima, emphasized the importance of professionals actively engaging government at all levels, staying informed, and being proactive in matters that affect their work and communities. He further encouraged members to stand firm against injustice and not remain silent on issues that impact their livelihood.

Former AAC Lagos Chairman Comrade Ayo called for unity and urged members of the association to align with AAC in the collective struggle for accountability, fairness, and people centered governance.
This engagement marks another step in building strong alliances with grassroots stakeholders across Alimosho.

‎The recent fire at Ikotun Market early hours on New year day has destroyed livelihoods, businesses, and the hard earned sweat of our traders. AAC Alimosho Chapter stands in solidarity with every business owner affected, your loss is our loss, and your pain resonates with the entire community.

‎This tragedy is not just a misfortune; it exposes recurring patterns of negligence and weak enforcement of safety standards in our markets. We call on Lagos State Government, Ikotun-Igando LCDA, and all relevant agencies to take immediate action, to enforce fire prevention measures, and stop these preventable disasters from becoming a recurring nightmare across the state.

‎The people of Alimosho deserve safer markets, functional infrastructure, and protection for their livelihoods. AAC Alimosho will continue to hold authorities accountable and ensure the voices of our traders are heard.

‎To all affected, We mourn with you, we stand with you, and together we will rebuild stronger.

IGANDO-IKOTUN ROAD: A HIGHWAY OR A DUMPSITE? AAC ALIMOSHO DEMANDS IMMEDIATE ACTION

The African Action Congress (AAC), Alimosho Local Government, is appalled by the gross negligence currently on display along the Ikotun-Igando Road. We are compelled to call out the Executive Chairman of Ikotun-Igando Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Mr. Lasisi Ayinde Akinsanya and the councilor ward A Omotosho Saheed Olateju regarding the shameful state of the road median.

The stretch from Igando to the Ikotun Roundabout has been allowed to degenerate into an illegal landfill. What should be a major thoroughfare is now decorated with heaps of festering filth. This creates not only a repulsive eyesore but a ticking time bomb for the health and safety of residents and commuters.

It is a disgrace that in a functioning LCDA, the median of a major road has been surrendered to refuse. The people of Ikotun Igando deserve dignity, not debris.

We demand that the Council Chairman wakes up to his responsibilities. We do not want excuses, we want a clean environment. The AAC demands the immediate evacuation of this refuse and the implementation of a consistent, effective waste management system.

E Signed,
Samuel Jimoh
