ABOUT US
Ikeja Garrison is a formation of the Nigerian Legion, a statutory body established to support the welfare of ex-service personnel and preserve the spirit of service within our communities. We stand as an extension of the Armed Forces tradition bringing together retired servicemen, trained auxiliaries, and patriotic citizens committed to discipline, duty, and national development.
Our mandate includes promoting camaraderie among veterans, supporting welfare initiatives, and providing structured security services nationwide. We operate under the Veterans Affairs Division (VAD), Ministry of Defence, Abuja.
Ikeja Garrison remains one of the most active and vibrant formations of the Nigerian Legion, dedicated to service, order, and public trust.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
• Support the welfare of ex-servicemen and foster unity among veterans.
• Establish and operate ventures that sustain Legion activities.
• Engage in community-focused programs that strengthen security and social welfare.
• Train and deploy the Corps of Commissionaires — an auxiliary security arm of the Legion.
Members of the Corps undergo rigorous three-month training covering discipline, character development, and practical security skills inspired by military standards.
OUR SERVICES
The Corps of Commissionaire provides trained security and protective services across Lagos, every state in Nigeria, and within nearby regions when required. Our personnel include retired ex-servicemen and certified auxiliaries equipped with the discipline and character associated with the Armed Forces.
