The Executive Chairman of Mushin Local Government, Hon. Aruwe Tunbosun, has decried the growing menace of indiscriminate roadside mechanic workshops across the council area.

According to him, the practice obstructs major roads, defaces the environment, and poses serious hazards to both motorists and pedestrians.

He warned that the local government will soon begin strict enforcement to clear unauthorized workshops, urging mechanics to relocate to designated sites provided by the government.

Hon. Aruwe assured residents that the administration is determined to restore order and create a safer, cleaner Mushin for all.

As from henceforth, he has declared a ban on indiscriminate roadside mechanic workshops within the local government area.

The Chairman expressed concern that such illegal activities obstruct traffic flow, degrade the environment, and compromise public safety. He reiterated that mechanics must operate only from approved locations and warned that violators will face strict sanctions.

Hon. Aruwe further appealed to residents and artisans to support the government’s efforts to sanitize the community and ensure sustainable urban development in Mushin Local Government.

Today, I inaugurated the Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) Registration Committee for Mushin Local Government to intensify mobilization efforts across our communities.

The exercise will commence on August 18, 2025, and run until December 10, 2025.

I appointed Engr. Koku as Chairman of the committee, with Pastor Taiwo Ilori serving as Secretary and Hon. Femi Nuga as Treasurer. Other members include Alhaja Mustapha Muinat, the APC Women Leader; Hon. Bolaji Amusan, Chairman of all ten Ward Party Chairmen in Mushin; Hon. Abosede Hassan (JP); Comrade Johnson Oluwaseun; and Hon. David Alayaki.

The ceremony was graced by the APC Chairman in Mushin, Alhaji Rafiu Sh*tta-Bey, who commended this initiative and urged our residents to take PVC registration seriously as a civic responsibility.

I have given the committee a clear mandate to:
• Mobilize residents for continuous PVC registration.
• Carry out massive sensitization on the importance of obtaining PVCs.
• Support INEC in ensuring a successful and inclusive registration exercise.

For me, the PVC remains the strongest tool for citizen participation in governance. I am committed to ensuring that Mushin residents are not left behind in shaping the future of our democracy.
