CONFESSION: THE LAST SUNDAY OF EVERY MONTH
If you are an active alumni/alumnus of FGC Ugwolawo, you will know that the Lagos Chapter of FGCUOSA (Federal Government College Ugwolawo Old Students Association) holds her monthly meetings/get together every last Sunday of the month; it is one of the days I look forward to every month.
I get excited whenever I am asked about my schedule for the last Sunday of the month. When not asked, I find a way to announce it, “I am just returning from my secondary school Alumni meeting”, “I will be attending my secondary school Alumni meeting”. I then proceed to let the individual know that it’s a priority for me to attend the meeting, if given an audience, I emphasize why every Nigerian Secondary school should have a vibrant Alumni association.
What FGCUOSA means to me? it’s an association of detribalized Nigerians who believe in qualitative education and value the role FGC Ugwolawo played in their success story and have one or all of these to give – time, resources and talent. We are committed to improving the standard of life and education at our Alma mater.
Summarily, FGCUOSA is a summation of what her members have to give – to the school, to one another and to the association. Being an active member of FGCUOSA is not about what you stand to gain but what you have to give.
It is on record that the association has assisted some members at their time of need; it is also on record that some members have sealed business deals and benefitted from scholarship opportunities as a result of information sourced from FGCUOSA community.
The association continues to make steady progress towards the realization of her goals and objectives. DO NOT BE LEFT OUT – GET ON BOARD.
My confession? Every last Sunday of the month is a very important date on my Calender. Do you have a FGCUOSA inspired confession? Tell me. What exactly does FGCUOSA mean to you? Tell me.
