HON. M.I. ALLI-BALOGUN COLLECTS INEC NOMINATION FORM, PLEDGES PRACTICAL AND RESULT-ORIENTED REPRESENTATION FOR SOMOLU CONSTITUENCY II
Hon. Morufu Idowu (M.I.) Alli-Balogun, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Somolu Constituency II (Bariga) in the forthcoming Lagos State House of Assembly election, has officially collected his Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) nomination form alongside 39 other APC candidates during a ceremony held at Lagos House, Marina.
The ceremony marked another significant milestone in the APC's preparations for the 2027 general elections, reaffirming the party's commitment to presenting competent and credible candidates who will build on the remarkable achievements of the Lagos State Government.
Speaking shortly after receiving his nomination form, Hon. Alli-Balogun expressed profound appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his unwavering support for the youth, to the Governor of Lagos State for his visionary leadership, unwavering commitment to democratic ideals, and continued efforts in strengthening the All Progressives Congress across the state. He also appreciated the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Obafemi Kadri Hamzat, for his steadfast support, exemplary service, and dedication to the growth and development of Lagos State.
He also paid glowing tribute to the Lagos State APC Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, for providing purposeful leadership that has continued to unite and reposition the party for greater electoral success. He expressed sincere appreciation to respected party elder, Pa Mutiu Are, whose fatherly counsel, guidance, and unwavering commitment have remained invaluable to the APC family.
He also paid glowing tribute to Engr. (Dr.) Abisoye Coker-Odusote, describing her as an outstanding public servant whose commitment to excellence, innovation, integrity, and selfless service continues to inspire many across Nigeria. He commended her motherly disposition and unwavering support for progressive governance, and acknowledged her immense contributions to strengthening public institutions, promoting good governance, and advancing the development of Lagos State. He thanked her for her encouragement, goodwill, and steadfast support throughout the political process.
Hon. Alli-Balogun equally conveyed his profound appreciation to Distinguished Senator Anthony Adefuye, a revered statesman and respected member of the Governor's Advisory Council (GAC), for his decades of exemplary leadership, invaluable counsel, and unwavering commitment to the progressive ideals upon which the APC has continued to flourish in Lagos State. He described Senator Adefuye as a father, mentor, and pillar of wisdom whose dedication to party unity, discipline, and grassroots development has continued to inspire generations of progressive politicians. He thanked the Distinguished Senator for his encouragement, guidance, and steadfast support.
Hon. Alli-Balogun described the opportunity to emerge as the APC candidate for Somolu Constituency II as a great honour and privilege, assuring party members and the good people of Bariga that he remains fully committed to providing practical, responsive, and result-oriented representation that will address the aspirations and developmental needs of every ward and community within the constituency.
"I sincerely appreciate the leadership of our great party and every member who has reposed confidence in me. It is a privilege to fly the flag of the All Progressives Congress, and I remain committed to serving our people with dedication, humility, transparency, and accountability. In the spirit of unity and reconciliation, Hon. Alli-Balogun extended an olive branch to every member of the party, particularly those who may have been disappointed by the outcome of the nomination process. He appealed to them to set aside differences and work together in the overall interest of the APC and the continued development of Lagos State.
He concluded by praying for God's blessings upon President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Governor, the Deputy Governor, Distinguished Senator Anthony Adefuye, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, Pa Mutiu Are, Engr. (Dr.) Abisoye Coker-Odusote, all party leaders, candidates, and members of the APC, asking for good health, divine wisdom, unity, strength, and unwavering commitment as they work collectively towards another resounding electoral victory.
