LASG INTENSIFIES ADVANCEMENT INITIATIVE EMERGENCY RESPONSE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM, SENSITISES STAKEHOLDERS
The Lagos State Government has intensified efforts to strengthen its emergency management framework with the introduction of Eko help App, a digital Artificial Intelligence (AI)-driven Emergency Responders Management System, designed to enhance coordination and operational efficiency across emergency services in Lagos State.
As part of preparatory steps toward its deployment, the Ministry convened a stakeholders’ sensitisation session on the implementation and operational framework of the platform.
LERMS is designed to function as an intelligent command-and-control tool, enabling seamless incident tracking, rapid information exchange, and improved deployment of first responders, by providing accurate, real-time situational data, the system is expected to support faster decision-making and more effective emergency interventions across Lagos State upon full rollout.
Stakeholders were drawn from relevant Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), including emergency response units, security agencies, environmental services, and fire safety authorities, participated in the sensitisation programme.
At the event, the LERMS devices were officially handed over to the Honourable Commissioner for the Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Relations, Mr. Olugbenga Oyerinde, who reaffirmed the State Government’s commitment to leveraging technology to enhance public safety and disaster response capacity.
While the system is yet to be launched, officials noted that ongoing stakeholder engagement, testing, and capacity-building initiatives are critical to ensuring its seamless adoption and effective utilisation upon deployment.
The introduction of LERMS is expected to significantly reduce emergency response times, improve situational awareness, and strengthen the overall resilience of Lagos State’s emergency management architecture once fully operational.
