The Olorunda Local Council Development Area, Iworo-Awori, Badagry, Lagos State, is set to hold a Women Symposium and Empowerment Programme.

The programme will be held under the chairmanship of ๐™ˆ๐™ง๐™จ. ๐™๐™ค๐™ก๐™–๐™จ๐™๐™–๐™™๐™š ๐™†๐™ค๐™›๐™ค๐™ฌ๐™ค๐™ง๐™ค๐™ก๐™– ๐˜ผ๐™Ÿ๐™ค๐™จ๐™š, wife of the Executive Chairman of Olorunda LCDA.

The event is part of the councilโ€™s efforts to promote womenโ€™s health, support empowerment, improve family welfare, and encourage community development across the council area.

The symposium is themed โ€œ๐‘ฏ๐’†๐’‚๐’๐’•๐’‰๐’š ๐‘พ๐’๐’Ž๐’†๐’, ๐‘ฏ๐’†๐’‚๐’๐’•๐’‰๐’š ๐‘ญ๐’‚๐’Ž๐’Š๐’๐’Š๐’†๐’”, ๐‘ป๐’‰๐’“๐’Š๐’—๐’Š๐’๐’ˆ ๐‘ช๐’๐’Ž๐’Ž๐’–๐’๐’Š๐’•๐’Š๐’†๐’”โ€ and will bring together women from different communities to discuss health, preventive healthcare, personal development, and community well-being. It will also include empowerment sessions for participants.

Olorunda Local Council Development Area, alongside Hon. Ajose Peter Kumayon and other stakeholders, on Tuesday joined thousands of supporters at a mega endorsement rally in Badagry Federation in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Dr. Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The rally, which also involved Badagry Local Government and Badagry West LCDA, held at the open space in front of Sunny Ajose Housing Estate opposite the French Village, Badagry.

The event brought together party members, political stakeholders, youth groups, women associations, traditional rulers, market leaders and community representatives from across the federation.

Participants reaffirmed support for President Tinubuโ€™s Renewed Hope Agenda and endorsed Dr. Hamzat as the preferred APC governorship aspirant in Lagos State for the 2027 election.

Speakers at the event said the endorsement reflects continued support for APC leadership at both national and state levels.

The gathering ended with commitments from stakeholders to mobilize support ahead of the 2027 elections across Badagry Federation.

The Executive Chairman of Olorunda Local Council Development Area, Hon. Ajose Peter Kumayon, has reaffirmed his total support for the re-election bid of Senator Idiat Oluranti Adebule following a courtesy visit by the Olorunda LCDA executives of the senatorโ€™s campaign team.

The delegation, led by Mr. Oluomo Dare Setonji Babatunde, visited the chairman at his office in Iworo on Monday to formally introduce members of the campaign structure and seek his support ahead of the 2027 elections.

The team, which comprises ward coordinators from the five wards in Olorunda LCDA alongside other local government executives, said the visit was aimed at strengthening grassroots mobilisation for Senator Adebule, who currently represents Lagos West Senatorial District at the National Assembly and is seeking another term in office.

Speaking during the meeting, Hon. Ajose described Senator Adebule as a respected leader and political mother whose contributions to Lagos State and the All Progressives Congress cannot be overlooked.

According to him, the campaign team did not need to request his support before he decided to stand firmly behind the senatorโ€™s re-election ambition.

He praised Senator Adebule for what he described as exemplary leadership and quality representation at the National Assembly, adding that she remains the partyโ€™s preferred candidate for the Lagos West Senatorial seat.

The council boss also assured the group of his readiness to support all aspirants who eventually emerge through the APC primary elections, while urging party members in Olorunda LCDA to remain loyal and united ahead of the primaries.

He encouraged members of the party to participate actively in the forthcoming APC primaries and vote for candidates of their choice peacefully.

Today, I join family members, friends, political associates, and the people of Olorunda LCDA in celebrating Hon. Samson Folorunsho Olatunde, fondly known as Samoa, as he marks his 60th birthday.

Your service and commitment to the development of Olorunda LCDA are appreciated. As my immediate predecessor, you contributed to the growth, peace, and stability of the council.

At 60, your life reflects dedication, experience, and leadership. Your impact, especially at the grassroots, continues to inspire many people.

On behalf of my family, the Executive Cabinet, Legislative Arm, management, staff, and the people of Olorunda LCDA, I congratulate you on this milestone.

Ajose Peter Kumayon, earlier today joined party leaders, faithful supporters, and other distinguished stakeholders at a special congregational prayer organised by the Renewed Hope Network at Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos, in honour of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat.

Today, as the world celebrates the beauty, strength and sacrifices of mothers, I join millions across the globe to specially honour and appreciate all mothers in Olorunda Local Council Development Area, Badagry Division and Lagos State at large for their immeasurable contributions to our families, communities and society.

Motherhood remains one of lifeโ€™s greatest callings. Mothers are the pillars of love, care, discipline, sacrifice and guidance. They are the silent builders of homes, the nurturers of future leaders and the strong backbone behind every successful family and thriving society.

On this special occasion of Motherโ€™s Day, I celebrate every mother for the countless sacrifices you make daily to ensure the well-being and progress of your children and loved ones.
