Head of Government Comprehensive Special School Lafia Hon Dr Yakubu Andrew, join the host of Sen Almakura's political proteges to celebrate with him on reaching a milestone; clocking 73 and yet looking strong, agile and sporty. Only the few lucky ones survive to the class of septuagenarians. Interestingly, the scores he had achieved and the life saving impacts he has had on the lives of the people through generosity and profound kindness in his long fruitful voyage of life that sufficiently counts and matters greatly. A man with a large heart and forgiving mind. A groomer, explorer and hunter of talents. An untypical personality and political leader through whose sleight of hand and supportive shoulder we lean on to climb up the aisle.
His decent, humble and gloriously righteous life of compassion and empathy stands him out markedly. He has suction out river of tears in the eyes of dozen despondent family members wrecked by misery and tragedy. He supported the needy; the sick, refugees, victims of kidnaping, widows, orphans and brought them succour in ways that defy description.
There is no gainsaying that Sen Umaru Tanko Almakura glaringly demonstrates and exemplifies a peak of humanity. His sense of compassion is second to none. Always being surrounded by people - most of whom are groping for help and assistance. And never had he ever shirked away from responsibilities.
It is to this rare man - a mortal angel in human form that we have vowed collectively to stand for now and always in loyalty and solidarity forever and ever.
I therefore seized this occasion to celebrate an idol, icon, mentor, a poster boy of luck , grace and destiny for a life well lived in the service of God and humanity. May the rest of the remaining days be filled with ALLAH's rahma, sound health and wellness. HBD Sir, Sardaunan Gwandara.
