FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: NDLEA ARRAIGNS NOTORIOUS DRUG DEALER SULAIMAN AMINU, AKA DANWAWU, IN COURT

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Kano State Command, has officially arraigned the notorious drug dealer Suleiman Aminu, widely known as Danwawu before the federal high court, court one, under the Hon. Justice MS Shu’aibu, today, May 28, 2025, in a decisive move to combat the rampant drug trade in the region. Danwawu, a figure synonymous with illicit drug trafficking, has been entrenched in this nefarious business for many years, establishing a significant network that has contributed to the drug crisis affecting communities across Kano and its neighboring states.

Suleiman Aminu was apprehended during a coordinated operation by the Nigeria Police Force, Kano Command, at his residence and was subsequently transferred to the NDLEA for a thorough investigation and prosecution. Upon his transfer, a follow-up operation was conducted, resulting in the recovery of additional illicit substances. His arraignment marks a significant victory in the ongoing battle against drug-related crimes and highlights the agency’s unwavering commitment to eradicating drug trafficking in all its forms.

The swift legal action taken against Danwawu underscores the command’s dedication under the leadership of CN AI Ahmad to dismantling long-standing drug networks and holding offenders accountable. This arraignment is in line with the relentless approach advocated by the agency’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (retd), CON, OFR, who has vowed to take a hard stance against drug dealers and traffickers. Under his leadership, the NDLEA is determined to create a safer environment for all Nigerians by confronting the drug menace head-on.

Following the arraignment, the court has ordered that the suspect be remanded at the correctional facility until the next adjourned date.

The agency urges the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities related to drug activity. Together, we can work towards a drug-free Nigeria.
