The Executive Chairman of Jema'a Local Government Area, Hon. Peter Tanko Dogara, has received in audience pupils of Rolland ECWA Academy, Takau, today at the Council's Secretariat, Kafanchan.

The pupils, accompanied by their teachers, paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman to show solidarity and appreciation, particularly following the Children's Day celebration held on Monday.

A highlight of the visit was the presentation of a gift to the Chairman by the pupils.

Responding, Hon. Peter Tanko Dogara commended the children for the visit and encouraged them to remain disciplined, focused on their studies, and to be good ambassadors of their families and Jema'a Local Government Area.

The Executive Chairman of Jema'a Local Government Area, Hon. Peter Tanko Dogara, today received members of the Birni Da Karkara Support Group in his office at the Council Secretariat, Kafanchan.

The delegation, led by Hajiya Ladi Abdullahi, paid the courtesy visit to formally introduce members of the group to the Chairman and express their support for his administration, citing the developmental strides and achievements recorded across the local government since he assumed office.

Speaking during the visit, the group commended Hon. Dogara's leadership style and commitment to grassroots development, assuring him of their continued support.

The high point of the visit was the presentation of an Award of Excellence to the Chairman in recognition of his impactful leadership and contributions to the growth and development of Jema'a Local Government Area.

The Executive Chairman of Jema'a Local Government Area, Hon. Peter Tanko Dogara, on Wednesday presided over the monthly Security Council Meeting held at the Council Secretariat, Kafanchan.

The meeting brought together heads and representatives of security agencies and other stakeholders to review the security situation across the Local Government and discuss measures aimed at sustaining peace and protecting lives and property.

Speaking during the meeting, Hon. Dogara commended security personnel for their commitment and sacrifices in the discharge of their duties. He stressed the importance of continued collaboration, information sharing, and community support in addressing security challenges and maintaining the relative peace being enjoyed in many parts of the Local Government.

The Chairman noted that security remains a key priority of his administration, assuring residents of the Council's continued support for efforts geared towards safeguarding communities and promoting a conducive environment for development.

Those in attendance included representatives of the Nigerian Army, the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), KADVIS, Hunters Association, Forest Guards, and other relevant security outfits operating within Jema'a Local Government Area. Other participants included tradiditiinal rulers.

The monthly Security Council Meeting remains an important platform for security agencies and stakeholders to assess emerging concerns, share intelligence, and strengthen coordination in the collective effort to keep Jema'a safe and secure.

Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Jema'a Local Government Area, paid a condolence visit to the family of late Hon. Amb. Joshua Ishaya today in Kaduna.

The delegation, led by Hon. Ali Kalat, Member representing Jema'a Constituency in the Kaduna State House of Assembly, conveyed the heartfelt condolences of the APC family in Jema'a over the painful loss of the late party stalwart and serving State Organising Secretary of the APC.

The Executive Chairman of Jema'a Local Government, Hon. Peter Tanko Dogara, was represented on the visit by Hon. Arak Yoohana Arak, the Vice Chairman of Jema'a APC.

Other members of the delegation included the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Comrade Yunana Barde; the Accountant General of Kaduna State, Alh. Hon. Peter Tanko Dogara, the Executive Chairman of Jema'a Local Government, today received a delegation of the Vessels Women Support Group on a familiarization and courtesy visit to his office in Kafanchan.

The delegation, led by Mrs. Dey Dorcas David, commended the Chairman's leadership style and developmental strides across the local government, describing his administration as responsive and people-oriented.

The highlight of the visit was the presentation of an Award of Good Governance to Hon. Dogara in recognition of his grassroots development drive and inclusive leadership.

In his response, the Chairman thanked the group for the honour and reaffirmed his administration's commitment to policies and programmes that improve the welfare of the people, particularly women and vulnerable groups.

CHILDREN’S DAY CELEBRATION IN JEMA’A LG: A COLOURFUL DISPLAY OF UNITY, CULTURE AND RENEWED COMMITMENT TO CHILD DEVELOPMENT

The 2026 Children’s Day celebration in Jema’a Local Government, held on Sunday, June 1st, was a colourful and well-attended event that brought together dignitaries, traditional institutions, religious leaders, educators, parents, and pupils, a commitment to the future of the child.

The event, rescheduled from May 27 due to the Sallah celebration, featured a vibrant atmosphere of unity and purpose, with a strong turnout from across sectors.

A major highlight was the presence of the Chairman of Sanga Local Government, Hon. Anto Usman, whose participation alongside other invited guests reflected the growing recognition of Hon. Peter Tanko Dogara’s consistent efforts at promoting the wellbeing of children as the future agents of change and in reviving and sustaining the Children’s Day celebration in Jema’a after nearly two decades of absence.

The Emir of Jema’a, the Kpop Gwong, Apostle Emmanuel Kure, Apostle Emmanuel Ego Bako, Hon. Ado Audu, the Vice Chairman of Jema’a LG, Hon. Emmanuel Moses Utung, as well as representatives of the National and State Assembly members, Hon. Daniel Amos and Hon. Ali Kalat, respectively, were all in attendance.

Pupils thrilled the audience with a well-coordinated march past, while outstanding schools were rewarded with cash prizes for excellence. Traditional dance performances also added colour and cultural pride to the celebration.

In his address, Elder Dare Akau reminded stakeholders that “an idle child is a workshop for crime,” urging stronger moral and educational guidance. The Chairman, Hon. Peter Tanko Dogara, also reaffirmed that “the future belongs to those who prepare for it,” charging children to remain focused and disciplined.

This marks the second consecutive Children’s Day celebration under this administration - after nearly twenty years of absence - reinforcing a renewed commitment to children, education, and community development in Jema’a LG.

It is with deep shock and sadness that I received the news of the passing of Hon. Joshua Ishaya, Welfare Secretary of the APC in Kaduna State.

His death is a painful loss to the APC family, Kaduna State, and all who knew him. I had the privilege of working closely with him and appointing him to my Transition Committee, where he served with dedication, wisdom, and a strong sense of duty.

Late Joshua, who is popularly known as Ambassador, was a loyal party man, a peace-loving leader, and a committed servant of the people whose contributions to the growth of our party and society will be remembered.

On behalf of the Government and people of Jema’a Local Government Council, I extend heartfelt condolences to his family, the APC family in Kaduna State, and all who mourn him.

May Almighty God forgive his shortcomings, grant him eternal rest, and comfort all he left behind.
