In a strong demonstration of compassion and empathy, the Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has paid a sympathy visit to the Nding community in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area following the recent attack that claimed several lives and left many families devastated.

The Governor, who was received by the Executive Chairman of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, Hon. Stephen Pwajok, met with widows, children, and survivors of the attack, offering words of comfort and reassurance. He assured the community that the government would not abandon them, declaring that “Nding community will not go down.”

Governor Mutfwang, accompanied by the Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Dr. Bernard Doro, alongside other government officials and stakeholders, expressed condolences to the bereaved families and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to protecting lives and property across Plateau State.

“I have been on this matter since it started. I have been in touch with the local government chairman and security agencies to contain the situation, and I decided to come here to see things for myself,” the Governor stated.

He commended security agencies for their prompt response and efforts in preventing the violence from escalating into Barkin Ladi town. The Governor also assured residents that any security personnel found complicit in the attacks would be investigated and brought to justice.

At a strategic security stakeholders’ meeting held at Gwol Motel, Barkin Ladi, attended by religious leaders, traditional rulers, youth representatives, and community stakeholders across ethnic divides, Governor Mutfwang vowed that perpetrators of the attacks in Barkin Ladi and other parts of Plateau State would not escape justice.

“The life of every Plateau citizen is precious, and we will do everything within our power to protect our people. Those who take pleasure in killing and inflicting pain on others will not know peace,” he declared.

As part of measures to strengthen security and restore order, the Governor reiterated the ban on mining activities at night, directing that all mining operations must end by 5:00 p.m. daily. He also announced a ban on night grazing and prohibited grazing by underage children, urging parents and livestock owners to take responsibility for proper cattle management.

Governor Mutfwang emphasized that Plateau State would not surrender to violence or criminality under his administration. He directed security agencies to intensify efforts toward identifying and prosecuting those behind the attacks and assured residents that the state government would continue to strengthen the security architecture to guarantee lasting peace and stability.

He further appealed to the media to avoid narratives capable of discouraging visitors and investors, insisting that Plateau remains the “Home of Peace and Tourism.”

The Governor also assured farmers that the government would secure farming communities ahead of the planting season and subsidize fertilizer distribution to support agricultural activities,“Prepare to return to your farms and do so safely,” he told residents.

In his remarks, the Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Dr. Bernard Doro, expressed solidarity with the affected communities and assured them of the Federal Government’s support through humanitarian interventions and recovery efforts.

Youth leaders under the Plateau Youth Council (PYC), alongside representatives of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), and traditional institutions led by the Gwom Rwei of Barkin Ladi, commended the Governor for his swift response and continued engagement with affected communities. They also agreed to convene a broader security meeting to address emerging concerns and promote lasting peace based on the directive of the Governor.

Governor Mutfwang also visited Ngbrazongo village in Kwall District of Irigwe Chiefdom, Bassa Local Government Area, where he sympathized with residents over the recent attack that claimed innocent lives. He assured the community that additional security measures would be implemented to prevent future occurrences.

Similarly, Dr. Bernard Doro sympathized with the affected residents and pledged his support toward strengthening community recovery efforts.

The District Head of Kwall and Chairman of the Irigwe Development Association commended Governor Mutfwang for visiting the remote community and appealed for stronger security measures, especially as the farming season approaches.

PLATEAU STATE TARGETS 50,000 JOBS, PARTNERS OUTSOURCE GLOBAL TO DRIVE DIGITAL ECONOMY

The Plateau State Government has strengthened its development communication strategy on job creation and digital inclusion by formalising a strategic partnership with Outsource Global to position the state as a leading hub in Nigeria’s expanding outsourcing industry.

The engagement took place at the Old Government House, Rayfield, Jos, when the Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, received the Outsource Global delegation on Monday, May 4, 2026. The meeting focused on aligning workforce development with the state’s long-term economic growth agenda.

Leading the delegation, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Outsource Global, Amal Hassan, affirmed Nigeria’s growing reputation as a competitive destination for outsourced services. She noted that the country has demonstrated its capacity to deliver high-quality professional services; including legal, accounting, and software engineering solutions, to global clients.

Hassan explained that the company’s expansion to Jos followed extensive research confirming Plateau State’s readiness to host large-scale outsourcing operations. She revealed that the initiative is already gaining momentum, with approximately 6,000 applications received within the first week of recruitment.

“We have commenced large-scale interviews and will continue the process,” she said, highlighting strong local interest and describing the programme as a scalable pathway to employment and global service delivery.

Also speaking, Chief Executive Officer of Bluetag and Director at Outsource Global, Uzochukwu Eziukwu, emphasised that workforce development is central to attracting investment. According to him, building a skilled workforce is key to unlocking economic opportunities and positioning Plateau State as a competitive destination for business.

He described the initiative as both an employment pipeline and a comprehensive framework for human capital development across critical sectors. “The platform identifies talent, aligns individuals with their skill sets, and guides them toward suitable career pathways and industry verticals,” he said.

Eziukwu added that the programme is designed to scale up to 50,000 participants, with at least 2,000 expected to secure international placements, while others will be absorbed into domestic outsourcing roles.

He further disclosed that a six-month internship model will serve as a “funnel system” to enhance employability and sustain engagement, with a target of keeping at least 50 percent of participants actively employed.

On his part, Governor Mutfwang described the initiative as a strategic response to unemployment, stressing the importance of skills acquisition over formal certification.

“It is about skills. A certificate alone does not confer competence; we must prioritise practical capabilities,” he stated, adding that the programme offers inclusive opportunities for all demographics. “Even a housewife can participate from home, earn income, and contribute meaningfully to the economy,” he noted.

The Governor also disclosed that the state has secured collaboration with MTN Nigeria to utilise its Bukuru facility for the programme’s take-off. The facility has the capacity to engage up to 1,600 workers across multiple shifts.

He further emphasised that the initiative will stimulate broader economic activities, creating ripple effects across sectors such as housing and value chains linked to digital services. Governor Mutfwang reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the success of the programme as it works towards achieving its 50,000 job creation target.

GOVERNOR MUTFWANG BIDS FAREWELL TO 1,134 HAJJ PILGRIMS, URGES EXEMPLARY CONDUCT

…As intending pilgrims pledge unreserved support to the Governor

The Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has formally bid farewell to 1,134 intending Muslim pilgrims from the state ahead of the 2026 Hajj exercise to Mecca, Saudi Arabia. He charged them to uphold discipline and conduct themselves as worthy ambassadors of Plateau State and Nigeria.

The farewell ceremony, held on Monday, May 4, 2026, at the new office premises of the Plateau State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board along Liberty Boulevard Road, Jos, brought together government officials, religious leaders, and families of the pilgrims preparing for the sacred journey.

Addressing the gathering, Governor Mutfwang prayed for the safety and success of the pilgrims, committing them into the hands of Almighty God.
“We entrust you to the protection of God Almighty, that He will guide you safely to your destination and bring you back in peace, shielding you from every harm that may arise during your journey,” the Governor said.

He urged the pilgrims to approach the exercise with utmost devotion and return home spiritually renewed. The Governor emphasized that their conduct in the Holy Land should reflect the core values of Plateau State, while reaffirming his administration’s commitment to peaceful coexistence.

He also cautioned those he described as “merchants of crisis” to desist from actions capable of undermining the state’s development.

The Executive Secretary of the Plateau State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Hon. Alhaji Daiyabu Dauda, disclosed that the 1,134 pilgrims comprise 570 sponsored by the state government and 564 who are self-sponsored.

Dauda commended Governor Mutfwang for his consistent support to the Board and pilgrims, highlighting key interventions such as the provision of a permanent office after over four decades, logistical support through vehicles, and the approval of free ihram garments and hijabs for all pilgrims.

He also recalled the Governor’s timely intervention during the 2025 Hajj, when additional meals were approved for pilgrims during a challenging period, describing the gesture as both compassionate and reassuring.

Expressing confidence in the leadership of the Amirul Hajj for the 2026 exercise, Rt. Hon. Idris Wase, Dauda noted that his experience and leadership capacity would ensure a smooth and successful pilgrimage.

In his remarks, Rt. Hon. Idris Wase, former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and Amirul Hajj 2026, urged the pilgrims to remain law-abiding, prayerful, and cooperative throughout their stay in Saudi Arabia. He stressed that their behavior would reflect the image of Plateau State and Nigeria at large.

He further noted that Governor Mutfwang has demonstrated remarkable love, compassion, and empathy toward the Muslim community, and therefore deserves their continued support and commitment. He encouraged the community to reciprocate this goodwill at the appropriate time.

The event marks a significant milestone in the state’s preparations for the annual pilgrimage, as the “Time is Now” administration continues to promote religious harmony and enhance the welfare of all citizens.

GOVERNOR MUTFWANG'S ELECTION IS DIVINE- ECWA PRESIDENT, REV. DR. JOB AYUBA BAGAT

The President of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), Rev. Dr. Job Ayuba Bagat, has described the election of the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, as a divinely ordained development aligned with God’s purpose for the state.

Speaking during a Sunday worship service at the ECWA Headquarters in Jos, Rev. Bagat stated that Governor Mutfwang’s emergence was orchestrated by God to restore the state and dismantle forces that have hindered its progress.

According to him, the Church remains fully supportive of the governor and will continue to pray for divine protection, wisdom, and guidance as he leads the state with integrity and dignity. "God has brought Governor Mutfwang to accomplish great things in Plateau. Since his assumption of office, we have seen God using him to dismantle the works of darkness,” Rev. Bagat said.

He emphasized that despite ongoing security challenges in the state, the Church remains steadfast in faith and confident of victory. "As a God-fearing denomination, we identify with your leadership. The progress recorded so far is a testament to divine backing,” he added.

Rev. Bagat further assured the governor of unwavering support from the Christian community, stressing that no form of intimidation would be tolerated. "Remain focused on your mission. God, who brought you at this critical time, will empower you to deliver Plateau from its challenges,” he urged.

In his response, Governor Mutfwang expressed deep appreciation to the ECWA leadership and the entire congregation for their warm reception and continued support. He acknowledged that his election was by God’s grace, not personal merit, and commended the people of Plateau State for their trust and cooperation.

The governor also called for stronger collaboration among communities, faith-based organizations, parents, and security agencies to protect vulnerable children and secure the future of the state.

The Church offered prayers for Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang and all government officials, asking that God’s light within them shine brightly, overcoming and dispelling every form of darkness, and guiding their leadership with wisdom, righteousness, and clarity of purpose.

GOVERNOR MUTFWANG CALLS FOR GREATER CHURCH INVOLVEMENT IN SHAPING SOCIETAL VALUES AND INFLUENCING POSITIVE BEHAVIOURAL CHANGE

Plateau State Governor, His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has emphasized the critical role of faith-based institutions in promoting communication for development and addressing the growing social and moral challenges confronting young people across the state.

The Governor made the call during a Sunday service at ECWA Headquarters Church, Jos, on May 3, 2026, where he underscored the urgent need for renewed value orientation and stronger engagement with the younger generation. He described the church as a strategic partner in shaping societal values, influencing positive behavioural change, and fostering peace and unity within communities.

Governor Mutfwang acknowledged the security challenges affecting parts of the state, particularly the recent unrest in Mangu Local Government Area. However, he stressed that beyond physical insecurity, Plateau State is also facing deeper social and developmental concerns that require collective action.

Speaking on the recent incident in Mangu, where some young men were attacked and killed, resulting in tension and a temporary blockade along the highway, Governor Mutfwang expressed sympathy to all those affected and prayed for healing, peace, and reconciliation in the affected communities.

In a passionate appeal to church leaders, the Governor warned against the growing disconnect between the church and younger generations.
“We are quietly losing a generation. The church needs to return to internal evangelism. We must re-evangelize the church,” he said, noting concerns that some youths involved in violent unrest were influenced by drugs, misinformation, and social disorientation.

Governor Mutfwang stressed that the role of the church must go beyond preaching to practical engagement, mentorship, counseling, and rehabilitation. "When it comes to rehabilitation, the church must step up. We must go beyond the pulpit. Youth fellowship platforms must rise to the challenge. This is about saving a generation,” he added.

The Governor also expressed concern over rising cases of child trafficking and exploitation. He revealed that security agencies recently intercepted about nine children allegedly being transported to Lagos, describing the development as disturbing and one that cuts across several local government areas.

He called for stronger collaboration among communities, faith-based organizations, parents, and security agencies to protect vulnerable children and safeguard the future of society.
Governor Mutfwang further drew attention to the plight of young girls in some mining communities, where exploitation and abuse remain prevalent. He urged the church to intensify advocacy, mentorship, and grassroots engagement aimed at protecting and empowering vulnerable groups.

In his remarks, Reverend Dr. Gideon Para-Mallam encouraged the Governor to remain steadfast in his commitment to development and good governance.
“God brought you here as a development governor. Please continue to use every available legal resource to develop Plateau State,” he said.
He also urged government officials to effectively represent the administration across the state.

“Go out there, bring government closer to the people, and clearly communicate the vision of this administration,” he added.

Delivering a sermon titled “Keep Your Lamps Burning,” drawn from Luke 12:35, the ECWA Assistant General Secretary, Rev. Dr. Sunday Congo, called on believers to remain spiritually alert, disciplined, and committed to righteous living.

“Be dressed and ready for service, and keep your lamps burning,” he said, explaining that Christians must remain prepared, devoted, and active in service to God at all times.

He urged believers to avoid the works of the flesh, uphold holiness, and remain steadfast in faith and service.
The service brought together government officials, church leaders, and members of the public, reinforcing the strong connection between faith, leadership, and collective responsibility in addressing societal challenges and promoting sustainable development in Plateau State.
